  1. @RememberSchiff, my son and I watched as well. After starting off sensibly, we ended up at the same point as you. It's a fun show if little else.
  2. @BuffaloAnnie welcome to the forum! How many attendees at your Roundtables, on average?
  3. Does that mean I get to down-vote you, David CO? 😉
  4. Welcome to the forum, @bobclark86! Thank you for giving back!
  5. Congratulations, Eagle Scout! The way you perceive your Scouting journey is refreshing, Brain. Well done!
  6. @ItsBrian enjoy your last day as a Life Scout! 😉
  7. FireStone, does the entire attendance fee go to the caterer?
  8. Time to post a Scout at every stop sign and traffic light! 😀
  9. Son's Troop is doing just that tomorrow. Outdoor service project for a business. Class A's will let any lookie-loos know its Scouts and not a bunch of boys messing around on private property. Being proud of their uniforms makes it an ever easier call. 😉
  10. Happy Scouts' Day to all my fellow American Scouters as we celebrate the Boy Scouts of America's founding 108 years ago! Are your Packs/Troops/Crews doing anything special to commemorate?
  11. Since we're answering for one another... TAHAWK, surely you've read enough of Jameson76's posts on this forum to realize he would not imply such. 😒 Rank requirements on this subject are clear.
  12. One of our scouts was explaining the parts of his Frist Class badge to a younger scout. At one point the young scout exclaimed "Hey, the trefoil is a cookie, too!" Samoas get my vote.
  13. @Hystrung welcome to the forum! Which Merit Badges do you counsel?
  14. @epiieq1, welcome to the forum! 😊
  15. @DanTheMan, welcome the the forum! Please don't hesitate to share your experiences with us!
  16. @mrkstvns welcome to the forum!
  17. Meet with the Scout and have your 20 year Eagle join. He could see you in action, do a little giving back by offering words of wisdom and inspiration for the young Scout, and help you meet YPT all at once. My $.02
  18. @scoutboy welcome to the forum! Are you currently a Scout? Volunteer? Involved parent? Other?
  19. Mash, any reason to think this could be anything other than a one time thing? If the Scout has been in the Troop for a while (?) and there's no track record of this kind of behavior from the parents, your decision is logical. Clearly defining your expectations going forward is smart. And if those expectations are not met, there's plenty of good suggestions here. I personally like @MattR's.
  20. Hi, @joeyi. Welcome to the forum and thank you for volunteering! We're you a Scout as a youth?
  21. @roberthynesii welcome to the forum and thank you for giving back!
  22. Sentinel, this is likely true for all Troops across America. Average is not good enough. Higher expectations for the win.
  23. This sentence struck a chord with me because I fear it may be the current reality. I like to think (foolishly?)we as Scouts and Scouters are collectively better than average.
