    • Never heard of that. I went back over the deductions and there was my attorney's fees, which was relatively small, and fees for 4 other attorneys, plus "case expenses" which was only $300. Nothing was shown about Alabama of statue of limitations. Now this was the 1.5% check so I don't know if the same percentage will apply to another check(s), if I ever get them. I am treating this as though I won't receive anything and this has been a waste of time.
    • Alabama is a closed state. Scaling factor .01-.10. The statute of limitations is why your award shrunk drastically.

    • I am working with council to try and start a new troop in our area. The closest ones are a half hour from where we are, so not ideal for parents; and that is if they are lucky-- for some of the scouts in our pack, it would be closer to an hour!  We have the CO on board, and are working to get some recruiting done so we have the scouts (and hopefully parent volunteers) ready. What else do I need to think of? I am also trying to create the calendar to at least have a few activities ready to go when the troop is approved, and now am wondering if I am getting ahead of myself!?!  Our pack is currently mostly lions and tigers, with a couple of wolves and a single bear-- plus the AOL who just aged out, and a part of the reason we are working on this goal. The AOLs  parents working with me to try and get this off the ground and running. We are planning on them being on committee/ committee chair and I am going to be scoutmaster due to me having been a scout when I was a youth. But setting up/ leading the entire program is a completely different ballgame than being a youth in the program, and I am trying to make sure I am prepared for everything as we get it up and running as it should be ran! TIA for any help/ tips/ tricks you can give!
    • "The scouts of Troop 51 recently took a backpacking trip on the Chattooga River and hit the trail near Licklog Falls in Oconee County. Twenty-one scouts and adults made it on the hike. The trip was called the “Bradley Hawkins Memorial Hike” in memory of  one of their former scout leaders and Eagle Scouts, who died as a result of a skateboarding accident in November 2021 at the age of 21. When Hawkins was a scout, he showed the troop the Chattooga Trail."
