  1. Troop 358.. Did I understand you correctly do you mean developing your tickets was easy was it completing your tickets? I start Wood Badge in Sept. and also do my ordeal in between 1st and 2nd weekends. The tickets are the only thing s I stress about on if it will be accepted.
  2. ASM1 Why don't you for once just tell us what the story was about since nobody saw it and can't find it.
  3. Tks, BW for clearing up the difference between Venture Patrol and Venturing. Well ast least I was confused about it. Our older boys are bored with the program and started to kick the idea around of a Venture Patrol however our Charter Rep is against it "It takes away from the main program"
  4. So how do I talk my wife into going. What is there for her to do during the day while I'm in class?
  5. Sorry to say guys I think there was such a story however I conly caught the tail end of it. All i saw was people playing paintball and some type of arrests. Imagine we'll hear more this weekend
  6. ASM1 Did you see a report on T.V.? Your blanket statements or general comments should be backed up
  7. You want a top ten list?..ha ha No seriously the biggest problem that I saw was not using the patrol method and not enough outdoor activity's. I kept telling the other leaders that we need to work-suggest with the PLC that this is where all the fun is OUTDOORS.
  8. I pulled my funding for the United Way long ago, with their own scandals of embezzlement and their attitude of being higher than the Supreme Ct of the U.S.
  9. Tks dancin fox I sent you my address. The service cap let's see how can I describe it, it's shaped kinda like the old McDonald's paper caps their employees used to wear. Or better yet Gomer Pyle usually wore one.
  10. I guess it's not campaign hats I'm looking for but a 'service cap"
  11. Anyone know if these can still be purchased? Tks
  12. Sorry ASM 514 I thought it was in the posts you had a son in the military. I went over the posts and I am incorrect
  13. ASM 514 Why don't you just ask your son how he displays the flag on his uniform next time he calls? P.S. My prayers are with him for his contiued safety in defending our country and our freedeoms
  14. Here is my two cents.... I have never been in the military, but the way it has been explained to me is that military uniforms have the flag with the blue field in the upper right...Because that's the way the flag looks when you lead into battle...picture the civil war days when you had flag bearers charging, that's how the flag would look. I've never heard that it means treason and if they were trying to make a statement by sewing it on differently on their uniform how far would that really go. Don't you really think that some C.O. would notice and take action?
  15. Tks OGE...I sent it to your personal e-mail thru Scouter Salteart...tks for your idea I'm doing something like that but would need to convert it over to slides great idea to do at the COH folowing this years summer camp
  16. Have you experienced dull COH's? How do you spark them up? The boy's just done seem to want to do skits. It seems they just call out the names come get your patch and move on.
  17. The last one I gave I received applause...I was surprised
  18. Matua, I'm an ASM and actually just gave a Scoutmaster minute during a troop meeting. I found something very insightful to speak on, however I made sure I was not the last one to speak that the actual Scoutmaster had the last say. I kinda of did it for two reasons 1. It was a real good Scoutmaster minute. 2. In hopes our own Scoutmaster would actually start doing it during the meetings instead of waiting till the COH to do it. Instead his minutes are filled with "your not doing this" "your not doing that"
  19. "Dave's Insanity Sauce" Yes, that's really the name of it and a drop will do ya.
  20. DS I like your idea of contacting Webelos that are graduating, how were you able to come up with the list of boys?
  21. Volunteer. Sometimes the jobs no one wants conceal big opportunities
  22. The policy our PLC came up with to counter this problem is that if the Grubmaster has allready purchased food based on your commitment of saying you were going ....You are still on the hook for your portion of the food. Another idea is coming up with a "down payment" upfront to show their commitment on going.
  23. LauraT7 When you speak of health forms for non-scouts are talking aobut Class1-2? or something else? Ron
  24. You need tolet the CC aware of what happened in addition the Charting partner of his behavior and let them best decide what good for the boys and program. All of this over cokes this man has deeper problems than sodas
