  1. This is what happend to a troop I was associated with, it completly destroyed it and was disolved 8 months later from everyone leaving
  2. simple gathering with pictures, items he made in cub scouts, old uniforms and then present him with the rank
  3. So when a patrol does an activity on their on without adults then it's not a patrol activity
  4. However this is not a boy scout outing, no tour permit filled out we approve the project simply that he can use it towards his advancement. The project sponsor has already approved it first
  5. The council would not be providing the insurance the project sponsor would. This is not a boy scout project thats why you dont do it for them. This is a scout using the leadership skills gained thru scouting applying it towards a non profit project and using it towards his boy scout advancement
  6. If you are asked about her membership your response "so and so was denied memberrship" that's all If you went snooping after learning that, that part was inapropriate
  7. Best idea keep the new scouts together with an older troop guide, let the patrol develop on thier own, remember during patrol time they will be working on a different skill set then life scouts, oh and btw that's the way the program is designed
  8. Nothing special, the treasurer would keep a log but, let me remind you that the money belongs to your charter if something bad was to happen, unless your opening seperate bank accounts with the scouts name on it
  9. No, Our council sends a postcard to the SM to p/u the scouts credentials, thats it
  10. I recently turned down approving a project (yes I'm the 4th signature) at best he is a promotor of the event, nto a project leader. Steer him in another direction
  11. A raffle to get a wooden coin? isnt that more like a purchase? What was the ticket for?
  12. Are you willing to take the training necessary for the position? And be specific what training he needs to take and what training you would training they may like for him to take
  13. The troop I served also approved projects by the entire committee. They evaluated the write-up to even suggesting doing additional work for the sponser even though the sponsor didnt want it. I was able to sit in on the very last one the committee approved. After the scout presented his project and stepped outside & as the commitee voted on it I reminded them that what you are acutally voting on is not how well the write up was done or not, neither the scope or size of the project, that you are voting on that this scout may use the leadership skills learned thru Boy Scouting that h
  14. Just a simple who you are and who the candidate is.
  15. Be on the phone today and everyday it's not returned. It's the squeeky whell that gets oiled first...Were all busy!
  16. I currently serve the district in conducting BOR's for Eagle Candidates, that question has not been asked. To me the awards are not that important, his experience in scouting, his personal goals and leadership qualitys. If would like to actually talke PM me a phone number
  17. You say that you've had several conversations with him about the scout not taking his POR seriously. Were you specific in what you were looking for?
  18. I still fail to see how dad is hurting the patrol method or the scout. Is his son coming to him to help cook his food or put up his tent or adjust his backpack? If something like this occurs then yes someone should speak to him
  19. How is the Father interfering with the troop or patrols on outings? I see nothing in your post that reflects that. You have an active registered active adult leader and parent..you have a good problem.
  20. Certainly you would want to make sure all the elements of the project had been met. If an element such as the scouts material list is missing this would be a reason to reject the project
