  1. We would allow the patrol to change its name once a year, usually around October. This way they didn't continually want to change names. What ever you picked, you was stuck with for 12 Months
  2. A little hard to resolve something that doesn't exist. We have repeatedly asked to have someone who supposedly saw the documents to post a copy of one of them, so to show this is not a joke. On top of that, no record exists of it anywhere, except in peoples mind.
  3. She never posted any outcome, because in order to have an outcome, you have to have an action to start. Since there is no appeal, there cannot be an outcome to a non-existant appeal. In addition I just looked at college confidential, no user of the same name, no thread that I could find either.(This message has been edited by nldscout)
  4. GernBlansten, Your statements that they should have turned htese files over right away is totally off base with the way civil trials are handled. If you are being sued you as the defendant never turn over documents voluntarilly. Its part of the prcoess f a civil suit that the defendant always tries to limit the amout of evidence that they must produce. The fast that the plantiff sued to get the document is pretty standard in a high profile case like this.
  5. This thread is a giant April Fools Prank started almost a year ago.
  6. Ed, were you really expecting an answer other than double speak? I will take some warm apple pie with vanilla Icecream please.
  7. I have to agree, far too little information to make a decision or even give real good advice. I will say based on my juducial experience that young men do dumb things, and sometimes a short period of detention, even a weekend is all it takes to open thier eyes and realize that this is not the life for them and they have become outstanding young men and citizens after that. Then on the other hand some will fool you, and begin the long slide to a life of crime. Maybe in this young mans case he will learn and become one of those upstanding people we always hope all of our scouts turn o
  8. DYB-Mike You absolutly can be an Eagle and be gay and atheist. People change orientations all the time, its a fact of life. Eagle732 I never said you were a liar, however I have spoken to the same gentleman that you claim out of the blue asked you if you were talking about "Justin's" appeal. Seems he claims no knowledge of that conversation, nor would he in his words "I would never reveal a scouts name or discuss any action pending with anyone unknown to me over the telephone"
  9. ALRIGHT, thats what I am talking about. You all realize this is a special moment over 600 post's and not one thing accomplished. Lets keep it going, we only have 23 Days and we have been keeping this beast alive for 1 YEAR.
  10. Well this is number 599, WHO IS GOING TO BE 600, come on we can do it!!!
  11. Oak Tree, There is no official implications if you don't file one. Each council would deal with it in thier own way. As councils cut back on expenses and staff, LTP will be one of those things that get looked at less. Thats why councils are not really beating leaders up over them as they don't have the staff to handle them anymore.
  12. "Fact is that I spoke with Michael Lovecchio from National to ask a general question about the process without mentioning names. He asked me if this was about Justin with out me ever using the Scout's name. I figure he's been getting calls on this. He told me to call Council. " So What I find amazing is you just called up national, just happened to get a national executive on the line and without knowing you, never having met you he right out of the blue tells you if your asking about "Justin" to call his council. I have a hard time beleiving thats going to happen. They don't even talk
  13. "Today we already have all Troop Committee positions and ASM positions filled. We look to our new ScoutParents as the pool of future TC members and/or ASMs. " I wasn't aware there was a limit on TC or even ASM positions. Register anyone that wants to be registered and help. Doing the online training is easy, arrange a nite at a place like a school that has a coumpter lab, sit all the adults down and have then do the basic stuff as a group. Then take them all over for coffee and questions.
  14. Troop489, Can't you ask the pld webmaster for the info?
  15. Like I said several times before, It has been confirmed that there is NO appeal. If someone has what they think are appeal papers then someone never submitted them. If someone here thinks there is an appeal, then post a copy of the National acknowledgement of receipt of appeal that you get back when the appeal has been accepted. ONLY 9 MORE POST'S AND WE REACH THE BIG 40!!!!!
  16. you can also get Food grade silicone spray. It won't go rancid and will wipe right out with a paper towel
  17. the easy answer is email the dad back and say you will gladly work with the scout once he finds the time to communicate with you. Send it to him, then wait for the boy to come forward.
  18. No appeal from anyone named Justin, sorry.
  19. Well I will say this. I have a friend who was the Field Director in a council I was previously in who is now at national, dealing in the Boy Scout area. We have stayed in contact over the years. In asking him a simple question "Is there any appeal at national that is over 6 months old" His response after checking was "NO". I asked the question this way, because I didn't want to know any personnal information, just if an appeal was pending. When you file an appeal, upon receiving it, national sends you and the council a letter acknowledging receipt. So unless someone can show us

  23. A few years ago on a district canoeing weekend we did potluck for Saturdays supper. Each patrol in all the troops was supposed to cook the patrol specialty in a large enough qty to feed the patrol twice over. We had about 25 patrols in 10 troops plus the specialty things the adults in all the troops cooked. We provided the desert for everyone. We had a great time, the scouts got to show off thier cooking ability and the adults really tried to out compete each other. besides the 180 scouts and leaders we had a ton of parents and siblings come for dinner and campfire. We had a mountain of
  24. I can only speak about the appeals that I have seen or worked on. National will contact the council if they wish to clarify an issue or have even asked for documents related to the appeal. They also have been known to write the scout for more info/clarification. I know in the past under a different CE, he took a hands off approach, once the papers were submitted, he just waited, but no answer ever took that long as national likes to answer and get the scout back on the trail if he wins. But like I said earlier, there is NO appeal here, never has been. If there was one submitted sc
