The judge just removed a mediator from the mediation, could she similarly remove a group from the mediation? -

Just baffling, Kevin Carey was her former colleague. Glad to hear that Greene will not be Settlement Trustee, -
Good point. Certainly other Scouting organizations have use celebrities to bring attention to their programs and become the face of their Scouting: - Scouts of Canada Chief Scout is tv's "Survivorman" Les Stroud. - I did not know that UK Chief Scout Bear Grylls recently spoke at UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow. https://www.scouts.org.uk/news/2021/november/chief-scout-bear-grylls-speaks-at-the-un-climate-change-conference-cop26-in-glasgow/ - since 1974, the Chief Scout of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines has been the President of the Philippines Should we have a non-celebrity, "normal" Chief Scout where scouts are the face of our Scouting. Hmmm.

Yes. My point was, if there are confirmation arguments, IMHO the U.S. Trustee will be near the front of the line. -

But wasn't the U.S. Trustee against sending this plan out for a vote and confirmation? -
Chapter 11 - USA Gymnastics - Plan 2

"It is not clear how much each survivor would get if the settlement is confirmed at a Dec. 13-14 hearing in Indianapolis. There currently isn’t enough money to fund the entire settlement, with at least one insurance carrier still disputing the amount it should pay. But the proposal that survivors overwhelmingly voted to approve allows for a partial settlement, and negotiations with the holdouts will continue ahead of the confirmation hearing. ... In exchange for accepting the settlement, the survivors will agree to end legal claims against USA Gymnastics, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and Bela and Martha Karolyi. Lawsuits by the survivors, including Olympic champions Simone Biles and Aly Raisman, have been on hold since USA Gymnastics filed for bankruptcy in December 2018, but they would be allowed to proceed again should USA Gymnastics exit bankruptcy without a deal." https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/2021/12/03/settlement-end-litigation-between-usa-gymnastics-nassar-survivors/8854581002/ -
We NEED a public spokesperson for our Scouting program, a Chief Scout, akin to Bear Grylls with the UK Scouting Association. Some requirement ideas: Leader Enthusiastic and active (young!) adventurer and scout program supporter. Has vision of future and how scouting can contribute. Someone who has the creds to challenge scouts. Can make time commitment. Good public and online (youtube, TikTok, etc., oh and scouter.com ) personality and role-model. NOT a BSA employee. Nominated by scouts and scouters (yeah voting/survey is not a core competency ). Confirmed by Commissioners (not NEC, Not NEB, not a PR firm) An example candidate. Well you look, he's all that AND an assistant scoutmaster too! or maybe candidate , a former scout, Cub Scout volunteer. No doubt there are more! Thoughts on need, requirements, responsibilities of a Chief Scout. My $0.03 (inflation) P.S. Mike Rowe has been mentioned in the past, maybe he's aged out?

Chapter 11 - USA Gymnastics - Plan 2

12/03/2021: However... U.S. Trustee Objection to Third Amended Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization proposed by USA Gymnastics and Additional TCC of Sexual Abuse Survivors The Plan should not be confirmed as the non-consensual third-party releases violate the Bankruptcy Code and Seventh Circuit law, and the Bankruptcy Court lacks constitutional authority to adjudicate, and thus impose releases of, the state law Abuse Claims at issue. Moreover, the Debtor’s release of many of the estate’s claims for little to no financial contribution does not satisfy the applicable standards under section 1123(b)(3)(A) and directly harms the Abuse Claimants and other creditors. The U.S. Trustee requests that this Court deny confirmation of the Plan. https://casedocs.omniagentsolutions.com/cmsvol2/pub_47282/0040a202-5e2a-48b7-99a5-f6df629ea023_1734.pdf Case 18-09108-RLM-11 Dockets: https://cases.omniagentsolutions.com/documents?clientid=CsgAAncz%2b6bcQ9xJsUS6kVRkbXTeWvylnPGR%2fbOwF7Mdnp%2bg4lFF6ZDffFn1%2bVXZdb3DCv1%2f7g0%3d&tagid=1034&noFrom=18-09108-RLM-11 -

I had thought there were 525 claimants but Professor Jacoby has the number at 510. Votes received 505 of which 476 were determined valid, 29 invalid. -
Of CEO's, CSE's, From the Charter and Bylaws of the BSA as proposed Nov 30, 2021 in the Plan Supplement link below https://casedocs.omniagentsolutions.com/cmsvol2/pub_47373/9e63149b-24cd-4cf1-b209-74d0d9854bbd_7515.pdf Corporate Officers Section 2, Clause 2 "The President and Chief Executive Officer shall be appointed by and shall serve at the pleasure of the Executive Board. The Chief Executive Officer shall be a voting member of the Executive Committee, oversee the National Operations Leadership Committee, and be an ex-officio nonvoting member of all other committees except the Governance and Nominating Committee, where the Chief Executive Officer shall serve as staff advisor. If the Chief Executive Officer is a commissioned professional, he or she may also hold the title of Chief Scout Executive. If the Chief Executive Officer is not a commissioned professional, the Chief Executive Officer shall have the authority, rights, privileges of the Chief Scout Executive. However, the Executive Board may commission the Chief Executive Officer and thereafter the Chief Executive Officer shall also hold the title of Chief Scout Executive." What is the point of a "Chief Scout Executive"? Isn't the Chief Scout traditionally a volunteer commissioned professional and an Executive a paid employee? I found no job description for CSE in ByLaws only that as stated above the Executive Board may decide to add this title to CEO regardless of background. Can we drop the meaningless title of Chief Scout Executive and bring back Chief Scout? Similarly, I don't understand the need for "President", "Chief Executive Officer" seems sufficient and is specified in the Bylaws. The Bylaws have no specification regarding the position of President. The Index is not in sync with the update. For example, the Index lists Vice presidents , 13. There is no mention of any Vice, presidents or otherwise, in the Nov 30, Bylaws. My $0.01,

Assuming unique Chairs, the math is suspect as there are 7 Standing Committees Governance Standing Committees Clause 7. The governance standing committees shall be: Audit and Enterprise Risk Management Committee; BSA Mission, Reputation, and Strategy Committee; Development Committee; Diversity Committee; Finance Committee; Governance and Nominating Committee; and Human Resources Committee. 12 members including: National Chair , National Chair-elect, National Commissioner, Immediate Past National Chair, Standing Committee Chairs (7), Chief Executive Officer, and two members-at-large = 14?

73 members is beyond what Bylaws states which IMHO are still too high. 12/01/2021 proposed ByLaws of BSA Article III. The Executive Board, Section 2 Membership The Executive Board of the Corporation shall consist of: Regular Members Clause 1. Beginning at the first national annual meeting following the effective date of this provision, the Board shall consist of not more than 48 members who shall be elected at the annual meeting of the Corporation for 3-year terms, except as provided in Section 3, Clause 1. Ex officio members shall not be included in the regular member total.

Good thought. With tools (especially knives): "What happens when your hand slips, where does the tool go?" "What happens when the piece or tool moves?" "Where do cuttings go?" This all goes to preparing your worksite to prevent an accident.

Same here, circa 1960's. In our junior high, boys took a 1/2 year in each of four shops: Wood, Metal, Graphic Arts (setting type, printing), and Power (electrical, small engine). We had the same restriction regarding lathe. Safety first. Our shop teachers were all no-nonsense men.
