Well, it sounds like to me that the Scoutmaster is the problem, not the scout. So the scout is being told not to return?? I dont think a Scoutmaster can do that, can they?

I believe somebody tell me recently that the sash will mess up the way a flag carrier works or something like that therefore they are not to be worn for parades,etc Dont know for sure, just what I have been told.

I am helping at our day camp this week. I, only being fourteen, am the oldest helper out there. Tomorrow, I am leading a hike which is 5 miles long. Age doesnt seem to be a problem for us, though maturity is esp. since we have two way radios.

What happens if the parent cant take the kid, but the kid gets a ride with somebody.... happens all the time here. Then that boy gets hurt, lost, etc and the parent could easily charge the leader with kidnapping, etc or sue them or the troop by saying the leader didnt have permission to take the boy with them. That paper with the parent's signature would fix that.(This message has been edited by hops_scout)

Also, if you look in your scout catalog by the tents, it will say that policy. Check with state rules as well because some states require more.

I prefer to carry a multi tool in a side pouch with a MiniMag Lite and a few other things. Also, I have small locking blade knife in a carabiner. It works well for what I would need it for.

I had filed a complaint with the Scouter staff and that member has been blocked. Hopefully they learn a lesson from it. It is a nice website, but made a waste of time from most people on the forums. DS, I too enjoy reading your answers and other opinions and learn something new each time I get on.

First thing, when you refer to a soldier in the USMC, it is always "Marine". Also, every part of their uniform has a meaning. I dont know what it is offhand, but will find out.
