I like the idea of bringing back the beret. Wallace, teach them to wear it right and disallow them to wear it incorrectly.

I like the idea though i have no idea about them. Sound a lot easier for everything changing patrols,etc. PS Glad to see you back.

That doesnt mean you have to do those themes. Let the boys do what they want when they want. Just take two GIANT steps back and advise, not lead. Let them plan some things especially meetings. They need to keep the other scouts in the troop.

Only problem with the new Field Book- or wait that doesnt exist. They no longer sell the Field Book in the catalog.

Sorry I cant help, but we always just take the new boys out on a campout and introduce them to EVERYTHING. It is quite the learning experience.

My car is going to be awesome..... I'm gonna have a HUMMER with all the features winch, gps, cb radio, tent, first aid kit, rope, all kinds of Scout stuff, the works.

Yep, that was directed towards him. We got hit bad too, but not as bad as them or right across the river did. We spent part of Saturday evening without power( which means I couldnt be on here with all of you:(). Hope your alright down there.

Technically, your not supposed to carry a pocketknife w/o your Totin Chit (or Whittling Chip in Cub Scouts) but I doubt many worry about it too much.

But if they worked hand in hand with firefighters, soldiers, etc not on their own, then they wouldnt have to be in the river- they could be on the bank assisting.

I think it would be just the opposite. Using teamwork and rope to save a person from water would be a rewarding expereince.

You know, you didnt have to ruin it. Besides, it could be a totally different story from a different part of the world. Thank you KoreaScouter, for everything you do as a scouter and a soldier defending us in the States.

If you had the choice, would you rather have your boys in BDU pants, uniform pants, or blue jeans while in the field? Come on now, use a little common sense. BTW- the Coast Guard was in the Department of Transportation until this year when it was moved to the Department of Homeland Security. It is only a part of the Department of Defense during war at which point it is in teh Department of the Navy.

Yeah, you dont wear your dress uniform while rock climbing or hiking or almost anything outdoors. That is what an activity shirt or troop shirt is for.

That is why they dont wear their uniform while playing Capture the Flag. Also, that would mean our men and women better not get shot( for more important reasons, too, such as their lives)
