I dont wear a watch very often. Reason being that every time I do, I break the band somehow and then it gets lost for however long. The one I have is a digital clock with a metal casing. It has a leather band I think. Says "Field Ranger" on the casing around the screen. $10 at Wally World. I want to get a cell phone or a watch with GPS in it:)

We rode about 46 in a day along the Great River Road near Alton, IL

Eamonn, dont worry about OJ. Sounds cool to me. Got his cell phone (I wish), his laptop, is in Boy Scouts, and likes to camp. Only thing missing for an exact twin of me is athletics which might be there (I dont know) I've thought about taking my laptop with me to camp this summer. I doubt I will because its battery only lasts about an hour and I dont know of any outlets where I would be able to charge it. I do take my digital camera most places now. That, and my knife;)

Thank you txscoutdad for explaining it to them. Apparently they dont understand.

"Remember that the flag is only a symbol and that as long as your actions are respectful and understood to be respectful by those observing, then there shouldn't be a problem." I NEVER want to hear that again. It is not JUST a symbol.

I have one that seems similar to Trail Pounder's. I'll snap some pics of it soon and post them somewhere.

I was just wondering who else enjoys doing these kinds of things. I do it some and thought that having this information available to where others could ask for help if needed would be Scout-like:) Currently, I have a cheap camera (75) but it works for me:)

I'm here about 10-20 times a day. Many would think I have no life:)

Not that it's needed by many:) I am Hops_Scout. I am a current Star Scout as a member of Troop 323 from Waterloo, IL. We are a part of the Okaw Valley Council. My troop position is currently the troop quartermaster. I have held just about all of the leadership positions in the troop thus far. I have been in Boy Scouts for 4 years, but have only attended summer camp for 2 of those summers. I work at the Cub Scout day camp each year by helping in the BB range and leading a 5-mile hike. I am getting close to obtaining the rank of Life and hope to do so by July. I play baseball, basketball, and football at the high school level. Currently I am a freshman. For baseball, I am the utility player. I am a starter on the freshman team as well as dress varsity. For football, I start both ways being the center and an outside linebacker as well as punter. I enjoy to hike, camp, climb, and just about anything outdoors. I collect lots of gear that go along with these hobbies. I am a member of REI. I enjoy volunteering to protect the environment as well. I work for a small company called Plants Plus. We are a plants wholesaler. The owner was an ASM in the troop for awhile. I am a web designer. I have developed my own personal website as well as a troop and pack site. I am a member of a website competition called The Rumbles in which I enter two sites and am a team leader. You can find my site at http://hops19.tripod.com Finally, I have the desire to be a United States Army RANGER. Also, I want to attend one of the best schools in the world. Thats right, the United States Military Academy at West Point. I hope to attend USMA and play baseball for the Black Knights. Duty, Honor, Country As you can see, I have a lot to talk about for being so young (compared to most of you;)). Most know me here, but I thought I would take the time to do this for the others who dont know me so well because it has happened several times where I am mistaken for an adult Scouter.

Hey all, it came up in the chat room a few minutes ago. What do you guys think about doing merit badge work over the internet? Are there any policies saying it cant be done?

RANGER Tillman is a true patriot. He gave up fortunes to serve his country. RANGER Tillman served in Afghanistan alongside his brother who joined at the same time shortly after September 11, 2001. As many who know me do know, I have the desire to do what he did. Both in being a professional athlete and becoming one of Americas elite, the Army RANGERS as a member of the 75th RANGER Regiment headquartered at Fort Benning, Georgia. According to Fox New Channel, he was a member of the 1st Bn. From Fort Lewis, Washington. It has been confirmed that his RANGER platoon was on patrol in the mountains when they came under small arms fire killing RANGER Tillman. Many of you have stated how he is just one of many who have died. That is very true and I am thankful for each and every one of them. I feel, though, that he receive a little big more because we know his story and what he did to serve his country. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY WE SHALL NEVER FORGET

Yeah, you're a little late, and it probably would have been best to just stay out of it. As it has been mentioned before (search), that is an Army thing whereas our uniform wouldnt fall into that area.

Right now, if you look at www.usma.edu, you'll find a picture of the Yankee's opening day. Guess what... nice, big flag HORIZONTAL!

I see it both ways. I could see it being a good thing because not everybody wants to see that. Also, though, there are some that might read it sometimes, but not always and would find that it would be just another thing to click and wait for;) I, though, would vote yes:)

Sounds like in this situation, blocking the person from emailing the leader may be warranted.

CAMPAIGN TO IGNORE THIS USER: FOG
hops_scout replied to MrsSmith's topic in Open Discussion - Program
Firstpusk, Dont you know that you're supposed to put the food on the table if you dont want it eaten!! -
I believe that people should be able to squelch whoever they want for whatever reason... I have to admit I've used it too, but those people dont seem to be posting here anymore either:) mk9750, Yeah I can understand why Bob would squelch Fat Old Guy. But then again, both are adults & should have better discernment.

CAMPAIGN TO IGNORE THIS USER: FOG

I dont like FOG, but I've lived with it. Mrs Smith, I'm turning this against you. You have 33 total posts. 4 of which have been in this thread criticizing other people. That is more than 12%!!! Now, I must head to the real reason of this forum. -
Proud Eagle, that wouldnt be anything new. If you really wanted to go all out, mil-type gear makers have pouches made specifically made for the Nalgee bottles. I, though, prefer a Camelbak Thermobak 3L in olive drab.

Personally, I think that is crazy. Several of you have seen my site. I have a lot of content on there. Some say that I shouldnt have that on there, but I do. Anyway, I get almost 600 site views a month from all over the world. I get the usual junk mail, etc but have never gotten anything that anybody else doesnt get. I have links to my school even and at one point even had a map of my town. I really think they are overreacting if they do something like this. Our school website even puts pictures, and first AND last names on the site with permission of course. A picture is most likely not going to cause something like that. If that was so, our school wouldnt do that. Also, then we would have to basically say: This is our troop page. We cant put anything on this page because we are afraid somebody might find out where we're from. Common sense is in order I believe.

Got an LED flashlight yet?
hops_scout replied to KoreaScouter's topic in Equipment Reviews & Discussions
While I also like the minimag light, I want to get me an LED light soon. I'm thinking that when I buy a headlamp, I'll get one with the LED feature. Red is good because you dont lose your "night vision" where as white or yellow will do that to you. Green is also good for that same reason. -
$100 for 5 days of DAY CAMP??? That's crazy!!! Our Cub Scout day camp is a 3 day camp and costs 22.50. Our Boy Scout resident camp is 6 days and is 115
