I think that for scout only trips where there are no leaders should still have a similar form filed. Maybe not with the council, but maybe the patrol should file a form to the troop committee or SM.

Do you know if.....

Purcelce, I dont have Popeye on my sleave either. I have a really old one from probably 10 years ago or older. I'm not even sure. A Scout's mom gave the shirt with the CSP to me after he quit, got Eagle, something. When I got a new shirt, I just switched the CSP instead of using the newer one that I had. -
Our troop looked into Blue Ridge. They got a slot at Seabase instead:( So I may be going to Ranger Camp in Georgia instead I hope:) If, and when, I get more information about Ranger Camp I will pass it along.

Thought of a couple more already:) ...if all you think about it seems like is Scouts or someway connected to Scouts. ...if you dream to just buy so much camping gear or emergency preparedness gear (me in both situations;)). ...if you belong to Scouter.com or a Boy Scouts msn group. ...if you have way over 100 posts on Scouter.com :):):):):):):):) -

Laura, I think that is a good idea. If we get anymore responses, people may be able to help and make it a bigger hit! FOG ---nevermind wont go there -
"Hey Hops, you forgot one, girls." Nope I did not forget that one. Well, maybe just a little bit, but not really;)
-
Just giving it a little bump, I know there are more people going on High Adventure in the next year so I want to keep this alive.
-
Alright everyone, we've had similar things before. What do for a living, rank, etc Now, I want everybody to talk about their other hobbies related or nonrelated to Scouting. I'll start: --Computer especially web design --football, baseball, and basketball-playing all of these sports --Cardinal Baseball--"It is definitly a baseball town" --volunteering --camping, hiking, etc --rock climbing --bike riding --reading --Army Rangers --military in general --cooking --patriotism Alright, your turn.

Laura, if you have access to a scanner, you could save some money by creating a website type of picture album very easily. This can be done for free and probably quicker than putting them into actual albums.

What did you get for Christmas (Scouts related)?

OT, I'm with you! My mom is (or at least was this year) so sweet. Basically everything I listed above was from my parents. Now all I need is.......... too long to list;) -

Since I've been in the troop, we've gone to in council twice and out the other 3 years. First 2 years, we went to Camp Manchester in KY. Then we went to Joy(which isnt a big Joy, haha;)). Last year we went to a camp in Southern MO. This coming year, we are going to Joy again because it is High Adventure year. I will most likely not be in attendance there though because I hope to be heading to Georgia for Ranger Camp though I'm not sure yet.

Make a survey or something and put in the local high schools. Then, have the school make announcements about them for you:) That's what our crew did, noticed it today;)

This backpack I'm looking more at a week's worth of gear mainly. The pack I have doesnt seem like it will be big enough for very much backpacking.

http://www.campmor.com/webapp/commerce/command/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=27657294&prmenbr=226 There's the link. And it's on sale now that I look at it!!
-
Alright guys, I know we've been through this before;) I have a backpack at this link which interests me. I thought I would get your opinion, maybe get lucky and somebody have it and can give feeback. Also, feedback on the company itself as I have not delt with Campmor or Jansport stuff before. I also have a backpack that I am possibly looking to sell, but not sure yet. Only problem with it is that fact that it doesnt fit my needs anymore. I'll try getting more information on it soon. (Note--- If any of this thread goes against any rules, not sure but doubt it, please let me know and remove it, thanks;))

'"some people just hate others and will do whatever they can to make that person mad and to make them feel good." The way that a BOR is run, at least in my part of the world, is the Board discusses the the Scout with him out of the room, with everyone stating their reasons why or why not. If a hateful person was on the board, that would be apparent right away when he says, "I don't think that he really did his knots" when everyone else knows that he did.' I know they discuss the Scout with him out of the room.... that's how it's done here too. My problem though is that some people would vote against the Scout if it was only done by boys. EXAMPLE-- We had 9 boys eligible for OA election this year. 8 got voted for by the troop. The other one, who is Eagle now, has always been picked on by most people. And especially at Boy Scouts. I would have to say that out of the 9 eligible, only 4 were, in my opinion, should have been voted for. He was one of them. The rest of them are the laziest people in the troop, but b/c it's all based on popularity for them, they all got in, and he didnt.
-
I dont like the idea for one reason... some people just hate others and will do whatever they can to make that person mad and to make them feel good. I do, though, like the idea of boys being involved in BORs.

I really think it needs to stop. As most of you know I'm 14 and a current Scout. I hear enough of this from my siblings, classmates and troopmates. I dont need it from adults too who are supposed to be "a role model to the Scouts teaching them values" or whatever. This is from another forum on their front page. "RULES OF ENGAGEMENT: This forum is for the discussion of tactical issues and is for the enjoyment of the members. REMEMBER: Be civil. Let's not have any personal attacks. Don't hide behind your screen. If you wouldn't be comfortable sitting across the table and saying your piece to the other person face to face, don't post it here. Also, don't overuse profanity. I really feel he needs to go ASAP. PLEASE, I beg you...
