  1. Eagle Project- Baseball Field Build shelves in the sheds to organize equipment and maintenance items. Pull weeds from warning track and infield dirt Paint dugouts Possibly erect a flag pole in center field Possibly paint chain-link fence Build a helmet rack for each dugout Build additional pitching mounds in bullpens Painting the bases and home plate Filling in low spots on the infield and the warning track Placing dirt around fence to block balls from going under Possibly obtaining and planting large, fern trees in center field as a hitters backdrop Currently, this is the first time that I have written anything down about this idea. Everything before now was just in my head. Please, tell me what you think:)
  2. You guys are lucky:) Right now, I'm going through all kinds of computer problems:( We actually have 3 computers in our house, but right now only the one I'm sitting at is hooked up to the net. We have a router to connect more than one, but the other computers are messed up. My sister's computer (Emachine from Best Buy) was just upgraded from 98 to 2000 and then to XP. The IE didnt install properly (or at all something like that) so I've been waiting on my friend to get me that. Well, he emails me that today, but I couldnt get the file to send to the other computer so that I could install. I'm going to have to burn it to a CD in order to do so. My mom told us a couple of weeks ago that she wasnt buying anymore CDs because "they went too fast". So, I'm going to have to go buy a few CDs so I can do this. Hopefully, it will work because my sister has been a little angry over this because she's been w/o her computer for almost a month now. Almost there I hope. And she needs it for school right now. My laptop is actually my other sister's, but I took it from her when the internet adaptor quite working right. It doesnt connect to the internet w/o buying something. My parents wont spend the money on it and either will I because I know that as soon as I do, she will take it back (which really doesnt sound too bad, but if I'm spending money on it, I'm keeping it). It has 98 installed on it and I'm thinking about upgrading to XP so that I can install FrontPage 2003 onto so that I can work on my sites from there. That orignally was the whole point of me taking it. Oh well. I do have my own digital camera though that I bought with my birthday money. 75 bucks for a 3.1 megapixel camera- sweet deal:) Anyway, enough of my complaining:(
  3. I dont carry a sheath knife. I've thought about getting one numerous times, but have not found one I would want that I would really need. The only ones I've thought about getting were the ones with an empty handle to carry survival stuff. But why? It's a waste of money when my 5 dollar Walmart knife does a great job and may look like crap, but gets the job done. BTW- its all rusted and everything for some reason. It's the sharpest knife I own though;) I dont really find knives to be all the cool. Who cares??
  4. I cant get it to work... could somebody just copy/paste it?
  5. I had planned to participate in our VFW's Memorial Day ceremoney, but we had to play in the regional finals for baseball at the same time so that didnt work:( We did play the national athem there and I 'bout had to kick a few in the rear end, they figured it out half-way through. BTW-we lost... i know somebody would ask;)
  6. What is YOUR point? How did he damage the constitution so badly? And yes, I truly believe Iraq and Saddam had something to do with 9/11. 343
  7. Worst President? Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war. They complain about his prosecution of it. One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S history. Let's clear up one point: President Bush didn't start the war on terror. Try to remember, it was started by terrorists BEFORE 9/11. Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement claims. FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year. John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions. Over 2,900 lives lost on 9/11. In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, Crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home. Worst president in history? Come on! The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but... It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51 day operation. We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Teddy Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick. It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!! Our military is GREAT! PASS IT ON.
  8. Sounds like you've got one on your computer. Just delete your cookies and/or run something such as Ad Aware. That program can be had off the internet for free, BTW. It could be worse. Brigade seems to be a good catalog and website. I havent bought anything from there, but their prices seem pretty fair. I just dont see Terry placing those things on here without letting us know first and going to the extreme to try not doing so.
  9. Trail, you wont find it on the news because that would hurt the news and their party. That would mean that some of our troops want to be there and feel it needs to be done.
  10. I realize that they arent allowed, but I do NOT plan to remove the pins I have. They mean too much to me, sorry. On one side, flap of collar;), I have a 911 pin that is in the shape of a pentagon with the towers as the 11 On the other side, I have an Air Force pin that I was given at Klondike by a scout from Scott Air Force Base.
  11. Here's my first page for this series. Hopefully, I'll have more soon. Enjoy the pictures:) http://bh2.htc.net/~hopper/pictures/climbing_gear.htm
  12. Our Booster Club does this too. I'm a member of the Web Development team at bulldogboosters.net Also, our computer club which is in charge of the site, etc do CD's for things such as sports, Prom, and most likely graduation. We use a S7000 from FujiFilm. For those not familiar, thats a 600 dollar camera. Also, we have a brand new Dell laptop. We sell ours for anything from 3 to 6 bucks a piece. Also, at banquets, we set up a laptop with a projector so people can see the pictures.
  13. Hey John!! How's it going out there? Gloves: http://franklinclimbing.com/2004/product/catchers_mitts.php http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=671312&storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&langId=-1 For some reason, they call them "catchers mitts" I believe Franklin is a part of Black Diamond, but not sure. The only climbing I've done is either off of a tower at camp or in a gym in the area. I use the gloves for other things as well though.
  14. Alright, I'm on lightfighter.com daily. They have a great site. I'm looking at possibly ordering a pack from there.
  15. Personally, I dont care what the BSA says about First Aid, I want to know what is going to work best. Remember, a Scout is Thrifty. That includes learning and not just when you go to buy something.
  16. Good point Red. As many of you know, I play multiple sports and am in high school. Guess what, I get to deal with competition on a daily basis. Whether it be a starting position in a sport or getting the highest grade in a subject or whatever. One positive thing I use competition for is when I'm lifting weights. I try to match (though usually doesnt happen) one of my partners even though he is extremely strong though I've been lifting longer. Though I know I wont do it, you still have to try. Now, weight lifting is one where you have to be smart when you lift too because getting too much weight too quickly can be very bad.
  17. Your local military surplus store carries. Walmart has similar stuff, but I dont think it is quite the same.
  18. Dang it Purcelce... I'm not one to like the water much. And I'm not that great of a swimmer. Now, I know what I get to listen to when we take our swim tests;)
  19. GreenEagle, what color did you get them in? Review please;) I've looked at one, but they dont have Olive Drab anymore and thats what I would want.
  20. That article has made a lot of people VERY mad. AT a military forum I'm a member of, I'll quote one person. "We defend democracy, but dont practice it" They found his email on HIS website and flooded it. I'm not saying that is the best solution, but they kind of got what they wanted. He is a true American Hero "because freedom dont come free"
  21. I have my hotmail account set to automatically delete anything with a subject line of: FWD or something similar.
  22. It hasnt been counting number of views for about a week now.
  23. Half Dome Helmet by Black Diamond The helmet is a sleek, low profile helmet that seems to be made for a beating. It is lightweight at under 13 ounces according to Black Diamond. The foam-padded helmet is very comfortable to wear. I have not worn it for a long time yet, but am excited to do so. There are multiple air vents for circulation on the hot routes. Also, on the four corners of the helmet are clips for the head strap for a headlight. I have also found that it can be used for a pair of goggles if needed. It looks a little bit dorky, but safety comes before style any day. Franklin Climbing Gloves The Franklin Climbing Gloves are well made and very useful. Not just for climbing, these have been used for weight lifting, wearing as a work glove, and for warmth. They can make your hands very sweaty, but take away a lot of friction. Youll want them tightly fitting for wearing and being able to work with rope. Mine are a little bit too big and that makes it hard for me to tie knots that are needed for climbing. This is the start of a series that I plan to write up for this forum. Next, I plan to do packs. I'll add a link with pictures soon. Anybody else with experience with these items, please type up:)
