It would be interesting to see if any units By UMC move to Trail Life like the Baptist did John

thanks for the link. now i know . at least there is not a reactor on site(lol)

that sick there are ads all over the internet for some very small system.($100 to 200) not sure how very much better they would get if you were willing to drop a few thousands. Sadly, kids were used. even at time they were unaware. not sure even with an active search (when hourly) a camp could protect itself fully. Sadly, more lawsuits again the camps (not sure their level of fault) john

you are right not sure what line of work the family was in. I could not tell you. At least its not like come to sea base sponsored by PADI.
-
so, it's come to NIL deals for scout troops. (Lol) my big worry is if the council finds out that there is money in selling ads (again) look at the old scout books lots of ads. I have seen camps being sponsored big a corporation put never a direct naming deal. While at least not yet (lol)

the real oxymoron here the phrase unregistered leader as if they are not registered at some level they are not a scout leader. so to lost application until a person showed up with a number and ypt on file they are not a registered leader as they must clear a background checks sorry the office is so lazy or careless.
-
to part of that question my state does not treat them as motorized vehicles until they are greater than 750 watt. So are much greater

ypt for everyone involved in the unit other than a guest doing a group activity. This guest is assigned a unit leader to be their guide during the presentation or additional interaction time. I would encourage parents to take the YPT training to know what they should see from the unit leader and what is expected of them and others involved in scouting. Any overnight YPT is a must, and transporting youth within a scouting event is necessary. Just picking their child is nice but not required.

well, most of your thoughts are already in effect. Look over the jobs and certification process for a short-term camp.

Scout master kicked out of scouts by district.
jcousino replied to Benjamincook's topic in Issues & Politics
yes there is no recourse for the scouter , you get your letter saying thank you for your Service but they are no longer need. i very much support protecting youth but there are a few scrupulous youth that understand how to work the system to get back at an adult that they did not like -

wow ,that a normal happening with my OA lodge they would leave the lodge secretary (14 y/o female alone to handle late check or have her going other lodge paper work alone in the Adm building so following this every time a lone adult would walk in the adm build to check in and ask a question they would them totally accidentally violating ypt standard and could be removed from BSA -
Is there a limit to the time frame? i could not find one ' Thank John

You have a good heart, but do you understand the risks involved with having an unregistered youth on trips?
-
SAFE sounds good on first reading , when carefully looked is at first clear the the troop leadership has the responsibility for safety other part are more vague as to what makes up skilled the very form states that "Motor vehicles used to transport Scouts must complete Pre-Trip Transportation Inspection before travel for each driver and vehicle" GSS - Transportation #9 Motor vehicles used to transport Scouts must complete Pre-Trip Transportation Inspection before travel. This includes correcting all deficiencies. Yes if all goes well no one will ask, Have a problem involving a transportation issue (car wreck) everyone will be wanting to see the form. If this form works t its best it should make you look and access travel and hopefully stop and cuorrect problems before they come real problems

The points of tour permits were transferred to the unit level when Councils did not want the liability. While there is not a council level form the checked item are now still required to be done at the unit level. Do you have records of current drivers licenses and auto insurance? Leader training, what about non-scouter leaders on trips? Fr. John

Here is my log for this fire BSA will never put out some thing that could be viewed as negative. (but True) do not scare the volunteers off If most volunteers and charter partners where told that if a event occurs and BSA insurance determines that you where not following BSA safety rules your on your own , remember what you signed in that charter agreement (Personal Defense and liability costs in the 9 figures for wrongful death of an 12 year old.) No rational person would knowingly take that on. Even more so in the light of BSA past insurance issues, Love the study of outdoor risk management from my little formal training Most Troop and District level events are scary. Now with NCAP (short term) standards most activities that i am aware of would have several safety gaps. Then at the troop level even who,s watching Just an easy example do you know if the person driving others youths to camp even has a valid drivers licensee . Have you checked? Fr. John

Just a side note about point a laser in the sky be sure not to point them at an airplane as this can results in criminal penalties.

LOL it more likely Moose, Eagle , Elk, Legion they all fall away? Still not sure why any of them take the risk with a troop that does not meet at their location I sure that my troops new CO does not know what the troop is doing

BSA would find a way of running ads on it (LOL)

Boy Scout Sleeps Outside for Three Straight Years
jcousino replied to T2Eagle's topic in Open Discussion - Program
one of the other writers called it a quinzhee (snow cave) so, so that is my reason for questioning it. After reading the story did not see any snow caves. But still, a feat of its own just not 1000 days in a snow cave the time is right based on the starting date. -

3 years straight? Not sure of that many places in Minnesota that keep a temperature that would keep snow year-round unless you were very high. he may have done this each winter for 3 years plus, maybe. Not sure that the facts are correct? 1000 hours over winter very possible -
"We own our meeting place, " Not sure how that's works as the troop can own nothing as it a fully owned part of it charter partner. I let some of the real lawyers here explain how that would be possible as the troop is not is own personality. all property belongs to the charter group or council if the group folds?
