  1. Agreed. Also, by “wanting to enjoy my time” , I meant that I don’t want any extra responsibility right now, or be expected to do a certain thing that is important when I’m busy with school right now. And lets say I get eagle in a month (physically not possible), I wouldn’t enjoy the program anymore since I would have more expected of me when I’m busy with school.
  2. I don't understand why you have two downvotes. You are speaking the truth.
  3. Written test & scenarios. I don't need to take the cognitive or psychometer exam due to it being through my school.
  4. My school doesn't have midterm in every class, only in about 5 out of 8 classes I take. I still have at least two to take next week. I also have my EMR state exam on Monday.
  5. My pack had the problem where people bought premade cars... Nobody cared since it was mostly the leader’s children.
  6. Adding onto my own post... I need to focus on school right now anyway, some Vocational school trades are not always the easiest. I’m juggling a mental health unit and EMR certification course for my Program, which is requiring a lot of book studying. I also want to actually enjoy my time before Eagle. I’m completely fine where I’m right now, I’m not going to wait 2 years and procrastinate.
  7. I’m aware, but just letting others know that I’m not rushing or anything.
  8. SPL, on my 2nd and final term. (They wanted me to continue for a 3rd term because small Troop, almost no senior scouts) Getting burnt out
  9. It’ll probably end up as “Scouts”
  10. I know BSA has been slowly supporting, by recently accepting homosexual scouts, and off topic, girls. Did a quick search and couldn’t find everything about it. If not, when/If will GSUSA accept boys or homosexuals?
  11. I believe my Council does not allow it. Atleast my district doesn’t. @NJCubScouter Am I right or did I read something else?
  12. Some people said: ”A: If they're in soil, and it rains, within 2-4 days. I brought these to college, so I played a bunch of pranks with them... I never really kept track of where they went. But I did launch one fairly close to my dorm, and I didn't see it the next day on the ground... So maybe 2-4 days are an exaggeration. They're worth it tho. Have fun” People say they use them in lakes, etc.
  13. https://www.amazon.com/Biodegradable-Water-Balloons-100-pack/dp/B0015VM60U Theres your solution haha.
  14. Cardboard boat race, always a fun time. Some troops go all out.
  15. I have atleast 100 hours, and for most OT programs they require around 200 of OT observation. I’m soon to have patient contact of all types. Currently it’s elderly. I’ve been to nursing homes, assisted living centers, and adult day care centers. I start clinical at a child day care in March.
  16. I’m aware, I probably will most likely obtain my CNA certification (in senior year), work as one throughout college and then after college most likely volunteer on a squad.
  17. As said in other threads, I’m in a Vocational HS for the health field and I graduate as a CNA. I plan on getting my masters and going into occupational therapy, and have 0 plans on going into the emergency field haha. Ive been tempted to volunteer on a local squad and having them pay for EMT though.
  18. So expensive though, I was lucky to have my school pay for EMR. From my research, EMR and WFR range from $700-1000+.
  19. I’ve never see wilderness first responder before, only WFA which is 16 hours. Maybe that’ll be my next venture after EMR!
  20. EMR classes can last for weeks/months, as it is usually 60-80 hours usually.
  21. Yes, BSA does have a say in the curriculum. They have a partnership and I read somewhere else they worked together to create WFA.
  22. Wilderness First Aid, something I’ve seen on the forums and it’s been making me want to take a course on it. I’m getting certified as a EMR (emergency medical responder), my state exam is in two weeks. EMR has 60+ more hours of training than wilderness, but do you learn different things in wilderness? If anyone has taken WFA, please share your experience.
  23. You could have one pack but maybe operate as two? Ex: Split pack meetings in half, one at one time, then one a time later.
