You know the thing is I got into LNT not because I am some TreeHugging, Greenpeace liberal that believe Global Warming is going to be the end of our Planet but I really believe like LBP claimed "Leave it better than you found it" if we all do our part while we are out enjoying the wilderness we should never see any trash. However it isn't us that's doing this its the average person. I was at our local park in Memphis (Shelby Farms) and the son and I walked the lake trail and I should have brought a trash bag with me, it really is disturbing and sad.

Advice on how to handle this, please?
JasonG172 replied to s'morestashe's topic in Open Discussion - Program
Wow, odd. In a troop setting I have never heard of camp outs and such not being "age appropriate" unless they are doing some Venture activities. Hiking 5 miles is honestly enough for Cub Scouts, and I do that twice a year. -
lol Cisco Cert tech here (CCNA AND CCNP) gotcha covered

We do, the person that operates the device also has an Ipad they use with it. Very easy and Very convenient . Just remember there is a fee! This fee can be passed on as a convenience charge to the user.

At resident camp they make a very very small catapult out of a plastic spoon

For all you coffee fans I stumbled across these one day on the clearance aisle and they taste great as well. I love this brand because it is bolder than normal bold coffees

This is my current struggle! fighting it for a year now

I thought the very same thing for a many a years, UNIL I put on a pair to use as my camp shoes (walking about camp site and to showers) they are extremely comfortable. My comfort level out weights fashion these days.

You will see leaders hanging them on the Temporary pockets which is the right shirt pocket. Some do sew them but since it is a yearly event they only hang them for a couple of month and then store em.

If I didn't already have a great pack I would jump on the JanSport that is currently in the ScoutStuff Site. I typically don't buy gear off the site but this is a quality product. http://www.scoutstuff.org/pack-katahdin-70l-jansport.html#.VxaaSMtIjyo

They are WELL ventilated shoes. They are NOT open toe which is what matters

Now I'll jump in right here and state that I own 3 different kind of scout pants and when I say that I wear them almost everyday that it is not an exaggeration. Mine last me a good 2 or 3 years. My sons out grew his before he finally blew the butt out. Also if there is a defect they store GLADLY will exchange them! The products HOLD UP

I guess I am missing something. If me and some of my troop buddies wanted to go camping (not using any of the troops stuff) what gives the SM the right to tell me No. This is not a scout function.

Scoutmaster denies 17 year old Life Scout Eagle
JasonG172 replied to SSF's topic in Advancement Resources
Registered and pays dues but that's been it after Life. No Camporee or Summer Camp -
Ours as well, they don't just throw them into the patrol and saw see ya. The leadership PL and ASPL have been working with them and they have another "seasoned" scout that is currently working on his project. All these boys are fresh crossovers being led by the older boys, just not in their patrol.

His Dad is the ASM - When he is done he's done and I wont see them again. Move along. If asked I will obviously say "sorry I already have plans" Current position in the Troop - Committee Chairman And also my son goes to a different troop, not the one I am a Committee Chairman for. Simply because of the poor leadership. -
Not assuming anything, More like Hoping. It can be pretty intense for a 10 year old keeping up with 14,15 or even 16 year old. The troop my son is in has 4 patrols, my son's make the 5th. BTW I am a Webelo Leader

I have a certain youth that was active early on and got busy with sports/band and is now doing his Eagle Project. I have seen him on 1 campout in the last 2 years and I have seen him at a handful of meeting the last year. I am really hoping NOT to be asked to be on his EBOR! -
Boy Scout age is what? 5th Grade? 10-11 years old, this is the norm. When he crosses over he should cross over into a age appropriate patrol. I do understand your concern with the language and topics the older boys discuss, my son is 3 months into his new troop and turned 11 in March. He doesn't look like an 11 year old when he stands next to his patrol.

Cyberchip for scout rank. How to handle?

I believe what is meant here is something like what U2 did, they gave their entire album away for free.
