  1. We will have to see the requirements. Maybe, maybe, maybe they have 8, but the AOL ones are shorter?
  2. No, you didn’t. In ‘86 it was the Scout badge. In ‘95 it became the Scout Rank. One was a joining badge and the other involves a lot more and is a rank. So, yes the badge was eliminated and replaced with a rank. In this case a joining badge of bobcat becomes an adventure. Times change.
  3. We didn’t / we don’t. It became the Scout rank in 2015. Things change.
  4. It isn't eliminated. It is making it age appropriate.
  5. There was a spreadsheet a few years back that showed sizes and the ranges (ABCD?).
  6. That rumor wasn’t in the staff circles I love in. I’m with the older crowd that would like have money. It was “only $1M” if I recall, so not too surprising that someone could have at least come up with a mortgage. The council never much invested in the camp compared to my current council. Very different approach.
  7. I’m not following your point. It was my old camp, so I’m decently familiar with what happened.
  8. Not as much as all staff have to register as “camp staff employee” or something. This stops the “camp staff unit” concept from being necessary. Our council’s camp staff crew added away pretty quickly.
  9. This is a troop, not a pack. More should be expected from the Scouts to not require a hall monitor.
  10. Condition is everything, as they say. Also, while all S outs things are collectible, I assume the individual kits are more collectible. Additionally, patches are core with everything off of that a bit less universally collectible.
  11. It is in our area. But maybe we have more hams?
  12. NOAC staff on discord. I don’t have any of the numbers.
  13. Fewer than 20 lodges (less than 10% of all lodges) participated in AIA events during the 2022 NOAC. Not a passion shared by more than 90% of all lodges.
  14. I'd say a group of the committee members can call a meeting. You can discuss a path forward. Who can appoint a new committee chair? Basically only the COR. Is your committee chair also the COR?
  15. I am a number one fan of Scoutbook. The issue is, that Scoutbook does not support Lone Scouts. Don't ask about it in the forums, that is the answer you will get. Why not? I don't know. It seems like it would be simple. Make the adult guide "everything" and a troop of 1. I don't know.
  16. Last year was awesome. We went from like 30 to 72. This year we went from 34 to 59. Many families took a look at the $80+$25 and said no thank you.
  17. You didn’t include world crest, handbook, and socks.
  18. He should discuss it with this merit badge counselor, but I would say no. It says take a trip AND there are other options to meet the equipment that may be better suited for him. Again, his counselor will provide counsel.
  19. Yes. 10,000 participants. 15,000 is including staff. Jamboree really sucked pretty badly compared to past Jamborees. Examples: no “headline” guests (literal promise that Jack Black was going to be there as part of a team building activity was a literal joke), no arena shows (no gathering of everyone at the jamboree, none), only the smaller climbing area was open at the summit, the canopy tour wasn’t open, and not all zip lines were open. My daughters were like “meh, what can I do here that I can’t do at camp?” They CAN Wait Until I Go Back. Not interested in future Jamborees.
  20. I couldn’t stand his video or 2 on uniforms since he has at least a few items out of compliance with standards. Plenty do, but they don’t make a video. He also didn’t point out what he had wasn’t standard.
