  1. Don't think that's his. Doesn't Stosh have a small troop? We do have a troop where I live that has not one but two such trailers.
  2. The two male wake boarders are pros from Austin. They board on Inks Lake.
  3. Our unit keeps a record of everyone's towing capacity and the trailer weight. Everyone has a tow package with all the frillls (load leveler, sway bars, etc). We are also lucky enough to have a dad who owns a car repair business and offers free (or heavily discounted) inspections of vehicles in our unit. That way everyone is as safe as can be vehicle-wise. The rest is up to the driver.
  4. If down range is parallel to the parking lot then the range should not be operating! If you really want satisfaction then read the range sports manual and find the violations this range has. Then hand that over to a lawyer and have him contact council to get your money. Don't expect council to step up and do the right thing.
  5. Wasn't it a folding camper? Not an actual storage/haul trailer?
  6. But it is of value in emergencies where taking advantage of a discreet amount of savings allows the unit to purchase that new gear that just went unexpectedly on sale, that Philmont slot that opened up at the last minute or that unexpected expense of replacement (of gear or such) due to an act of God. Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. Personal Mgmt even teaches us to save and invest wisely, keep good records and audit to maintain credibility. It does NOT teach us to live paycheck to paycheck.
  7. Good accounting, reporting and auditing is even simpler.
  8. It's not on the GTSS or the recently updated driving guide, nor on the bsa transportation page. Maybe it was a rule at one time but doesn't look like it now. I'd argue that as long as you follow the law driving as a group allows you to render aid faster. If one adjusts their driving in a caravan style and violates the laws, they're not doing it safely. Follow the laws and a caravan type system works just fine.
  9. Does bsa policy prohibit caravaning? I thought if you followed at a safe distance and obeyed the traffic laws it would be safer.
  10. I think Venturing Advisor WAS the BSA definition.
  11. Our very popular SM is stepping down. His reason: Time to leave (fade in to the background) and let someone new take over. He's been fading in to the background since spring to let the new SM gradually take over. In September he will officially step down but by that time he will have transitioned all duties. He plans to stay away through December so the guys can get fully used to the new SM. He said, "If the boys don't miss me, we've done our job as adult leaders. It's not about us, it's about them."
  12. As Americans we reserve the right to fuss about anything. You can bet someone somewhere will insist we use the correct gender-neutral pronoun to avoid "triggering" someone we've exploited.
  13. But they didn't take the Boy out of the equation. Make it coed you NO LONGER have BOY Scouts, you have Scouts. Time will tell if coed happens, and if the name changes
  14. They've never taken the BOY out of Boy Scouts either. You bet the name will change. It's false advertising. It won't be Boy Scouts anymore.
  15. Work? Sure they work. Make a noise that gets everyone's attention even in the next country? That's a Fox40. There's no. Claiming they didn't hear it.
  16. Or that. Or a Thunder. SR6 here.
  17. Blow a Fox40 in their direction they'll stop and listen.
  18. If you read, bathrooms are but one of issues mentioned. All the things you mentioned were pointed out above. But you're wrong about bathrooms. Those and shower facilities are HUGE issues in some councils. In mine there's not one camp that has non-communal shower AND bathroom facilities IN THE SAME LOCATION. So adults have to wait for Scouts. Then adults have their time. No wonder we stop actitivea at 3:30 so everyone can shower before dinner at 5pm. Now add girls? That's TWO more shifts!!! Morning and night. Don't tell me it's not about bathrooms. It sure as heck is! But yes, the other things already me ruined will need to change too.
  19. I just wore my regular uniforms. Didn't bother with all the special patches. Everyone else has them anyway, so didn't make them special anymore.
  20. I think blind people know they're blind. How is that offensive? I swear. I weep for my generation.
  21. I live here. I know. Wind could be a cause. But a 34ft trailer and a Excursion sound a mismatch. Also, no other big rig accidents on that road or others so winds may not be the cause. We shall see what the investigation yields.
