  1. It is a complicated analysis that could show different stories depending on how one slices it. I think e do of 2022 compared to end of 2021 is an important measure as is April 23 compared to April 22. Comparing April 23 to end of year 22 is interesting, and important, but bakes in some ebs and flows.
  2. They both say instructors. I guess the first could be a lower case i instructor as in anyone instructing as long as they just completed the end user class. I read it as they both have to be certified instructors.
  3. I didn’t record the numbers, but I recall the total being around 1500 at the lowest.
  4. Has he told the coach he isn’t interested in any coaching, but here is my proposal, please process?
  5. Good luck argument semantics. Seems pretty simple to me.
  6. The scout is turning it in to the designated district person. Turn it in and move on. Or you can choose to make a big deal out of it. Your choice.
  7. I think you are going to have to get over it. Our district has a designated person to hand the project into. Just turn it in. Done.
  8. They aren’t saying you need to use a coach, just give the project proposal to a coach. It seems like they are the ones you turn the project proposal into. Keep it simple.
  9. Yeah, it is actually in the handbook requirement you need district or council approval before you start the project. What is the confusion? You don’t need to have the eagle coach help, it is just the process to get approval. Give it to the coach and get approval.
  10. It is very common to require pre approval of the project.
  11. I’m confused on this point. Patrol members do, or don’t, vote for their PLs?
  12. Many different background checks in the world. Also, the BSA will be able to track bad actors even if they change location. Not the best track record in the past, but this is the goal.
  13. You keep saying how and people tell you how and you don’t like it. 2 days after your question, the first clear how was given. It is so obvious, no one thinks it needs to be said, but tron did. Before it gets locked, I will again tell you how. If this doesn’t satisfy you, I don’t think anything will and I think there is some major communication issues. These are just examples. Like life and Scouts, it will be choose your own adventure. Lead by the SPL, mentored by the SM. I don’t know how we could be clearer and at least 5 have given you good answers. One more try and I am done.
  14. This is blatantly not true. Many have given you answers. Your response has been “but how?”
  15. We are chartered by the PTO with the principal as our XO. We can’t have religion be as big of a part of cubs as the mormans who influenced the advancement wanted. It is 100% done at home. Period.
  16. Ugh. Did you see there is a meeting / presentation on “Americanism”. Ok boomer. I don’t know if I ever used that phrase.
  17. I don’t believe you have looked at all 4.
  18. The patrol yell is covered with sufficient details in the Scout Handbook. It is also covered in the PL Handbook. It is also covered in the SPL Handbook. It is also covered in the Troop Leader Guidebook. Have you read those? Has your SPL?
  19. It has been said again and again and again. How ever the SPL wants.
  20. Yes. Ok? You still seem to be getting at something that you aren’t saying. I guess you don’t wish to share your alternative intent. Are you the SM? Your desire for chapter and verse on these items may never be quenched. Being a SM isn’t so exact.
  21. The SPL says “all patrols, when reporting to a station, the PL confirms everyone is there and has the patrol give the patrol yell”. Very simple. In scouts, and life, this is pretty far down on the list.
  22. Just like any other skill, the SPL discusses the gap at a PLC. They then ask an older scout from a different troop to come in and instruct or they ask an adult volunteer to come in an instruct. This is true for all advancement.
  23. Dude. What are you getting at? Some of it may be. A few posts back someone gave you a ton of references. A SM can use these and work with the SPL. You seem to be getting at something none of us here are getting. Are you trying to find an indisputable reference to make the SPL comply? I don’t know think you’ll find it. What are you really getting at?
  24. Many of these are national employees. Ours are. I have heard some aren’t. I assume that is for low volume, or marginal operations national chooses not to staff. Then the council would be the reseller.
