In 1972, Harry may have been a scout in Wenatchee Troop 7 .
The history of Troop 7 goes back to at least 1931 according to the troop's facebook page.

There is a site out there called Spokeo that might be helpful
It lists a Harry Larue, age 57 (so that would be about the right age) living in Bonney Lake, WA that at one time lived in East Wenatchee, WA.
Thanks. I sent an email with your lead to the Wenatchee World reporter who is attempting to find our scout Harry.

Forget the wallet. Can we be a little more Helpful here. After all that Boy Scouts card could be a blue card, the one our Harry needed to earn his Eagle in '72!
We need to find our lost scout Harry Larue.
First let's check ScoutNet...er, nevermind that will take too long. Let's search behind every tree instead.

Wenatchee, WA workers were renovating the city's public pool facility when they stumbled upon a leather wallet lost 46 years ago.
According to The Wenatchee World, the wallet was tucked behind the boys' lockers in the changing room. It contained a few family photographs and a Boy Scouts card that said Harry LaRue lived in Eastern Wenatchee.
A reporter with the Wenatchee World is trying to find Harry, with little success so far.
In the meantime, the city of Wenatchee has the wallet for safekeeping.

@qwazse It's difficult to tell with only a partial side view, but I think it might be the Cascade Pacific Council patch.

Speaking of Penn State football and liability, Penn State has a home game (Beaver Stadium) with Kent State on Sept 15, with the theme All-University Day, Community Heroes Recognition, and Boy Scout Jamboree.
"All Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts are invited to attend our annual Scout Celebration. Prior to the game, all Scouts are invited to attend the Nittany Jamboree at Medlar Field -- a pre-game fair with Scout-related activities. Interested Troops and Packs can purchase special ticket packages at a reduced rate by calling 1-800-NITTANY. "

Perhaps more relevant in adult training.
The mind will only absorb what the butt can endure.
"The longer you have to sit, the less concentration you are going to have to learn. Also, we were always given the idea that you don’t tell people what to do, you ask them if they would like to do it. I think you have to be able to read people and know if it is going to work or it isn’t. "

A lot of hysteria over the OP hearsay.
This is a safety issue. We occasionally tear corners of a Totin Chip card but more frequently we immediately take away the object that is not being used safely and that intervention is not deterred by the presence of others.
No songs, rather retraining.
This is made clear to parents so we are all on the same page.

No doubt. I presume there are a series of college courses and courses of study detailing these items. The degree would be in Nano Studies, and then you can work in the Ministry of Silly Walks
Perhaps you are thinking of Scouting University?
Nano Studies is a serious course of study at real colleges.

I usually apply the Show me where that is written rule.

Along that thought, maybe units should first check adult leader availability before sending out permission slips to scouts.

Agree with rotation. Having different adult reviewers as a scout advances through the ranks goes hand in hand with adult association method. Mix it up, keep everyone sharp.
If you decide to downsize your Troop Committee, you might start with CC.

Here is an example of a scout diagnosed with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome which to this layman appears similar to Down's syndrome and how smarter scouters delivered on the promise of Scouting.

As opposed to a legitimate question.
She posted the same thing on at least four other sites recently. An odd topic for someone pot-stirring (Jacket-wearing for 8 yr olds is hardly controversial.), so perhaps she is for real.
But the denial of other posts is clearly dishonest. So...
IMO, her question appeared to be more about basic parenting than scouting but we moderators allowed it. The same question being posted on College Confidential and a Men's Clothing website is rather odd, though there is nothing wrong with posting the same question on whatever forum will allow it. Your suspicion appears warranted, but we moderators would need proof that she/he was the same person to take action regarding your concern of dishonesty or other violations of Scout Oath and Law. FYI, members usually issue a report on questionable or unscoutlike posts.
Last week, I banned a prospective member whose first post was an exact copy of another first post made in January by a new legitimate member. The hacker thought to gain approved access by using a previously approved post. No cigar.

I wonder why no official announcement anywhere on this. I would think it would be a big deal on the various blogs.
There appears to be a STEM partnership between SIU and BSA. SIU announced before BSA?

Pack 77 Den Leader and Southern Illinois University (SIU) associate math professor Wesley Calvert has created a new Nova award based on the mathematics of symmetry, Fearful Symmetry .
A few years ago, SIU began playing host to an annual STEM University event, which gave scouts the chance to earn Nova and other merit awards. During the 2016 event, Calvert met Lisa Balbes, who serves on a national committee charged with reviewing proposals for such awards.
“We talked about the need for additional math awards within the program, and after continued conversations with her and another member of this committee, that summer I started to develop the Fearful Symmetry.”
...
The activities require scouts to watch, read and discuss ideas related to symmetry in everyday life, as well as its history and uses. It also guides them through various hands-on activities such as folding and rolling paper to make a lantern, drawing traditional Indian kolam art patterns using chalk on a sidewalk, or making Native American rugs and patchworks using paper.
Kolam is a form of drawing using rice flour, chalk or rock powder of various colors. It is popular in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and some parts of Goa, Maharashtra, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and a few other Asian countries.
“The kolam activity was one of the first ones I knew I wanted to include,” Calvert said. “I learned about this art form during my time as a Fulbright-Nehru scholar in India, and that was also how I met Sunita Vatuk, of the City College of New York, who has used this art form to teach mathematical ideas both to children and to school teachers.

more at link. Very cool.
