  1. I agree with @AwakeEnergyScouter. I would have skipped mythology and classicalism altogether, see BSA Memorial in DC for the reason. I think having representatives of ladies in the last past and present, 1940s Den Mother, 1972 Sea Scout and Explorer, 1989 Female ASM, 1998 Venturer, and today's female Scouts would have been better.

  2. No patrol competitions in Scoutcraft. No Scoutcraft area either. This isn't Summer Camp. With the exception of four defined programs that units will be attending together at pre-set dates/times, the entire program is up to the Scout. They have the total freedom to do whatever they want, whenever they want. Program areas are open each day from 9:00 - 5:00.

  3. Came to type what @yknot said after thinking about what @Eagle94-A1 and @SiouxRanger said. Female scouts and scouters aren't mythical beings. We're real, and not new. Specific names surfaced very quickly, to boot.

  4. There have to be more than a half dozen bronze statues around Bechtel, most depicting men or boys doing something scout like, such as hunting, biking, falconry or at least hanging out with the eagles, fishing, etc. The only statue, and the first statue, they could think of to depict women scouters was a mythical one? What is the symbolism of this? All the male statues are showing people already enjoying the scout ideal; is this female statue inferring that scouting is something women are aspiring to when they are already doing it? It would have been better to show a show a female scouter hikin

  5. I personally know both them, and knew them at Philmont when they were Philmont Rangers. Note: Once one is a Philmont Ranger, one is ALWAYS a Philmont Ranger. One is never a former Philmont Ranger. Kathy Leach and Nancy Wells are among the finest individuals I have ever met.

  8. This is pretty much how WSJ operated at Summit in 2019 (albeit with 4x the attendance). There were team activities in some areas, but ad hoc patrols could self-form for those. Scouts wanting to ride the big zip, for example, checked out of camp as early as 5am to get in line. Some units were more tight-knit — especially if they had time slots for performing on one of the stages. But generally, as long as scouts were with a buddy, they had free reign of the place. The Korean Jamboree Management Team, on the other hand, is scheduling many activities by patrol. I last experienced a syst

  9. Hartford and Century have made partial payment. Approximately 150 mil total if memory serves. It's in the confirmed plan. Optimistic assessment: Yes, the remainder must be paid after appeals but at least the Trust is funded to a level that allows it to start its work. Pessimistic assessment: Yes, let's hope that the plan isn't overturned on appeal at the same time the Trustee and Trust professionals burn through the initial contributions and become the only recipients of Trust money!.
