    • I felt the same about Bolos.  I thought neckers were uniform... worldwide.
    • Oh, no... Just got the spam Scout Shop email telling me about these new wonderful Scout socks! https://www.scoutshop.org/mcgovern-outdoor-hiking-socks.html We have a difficult enough time chasing the Uniform method and getting youth to adhere to the practice of wearing a uniform.  https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Scouts-BSA-Aims-and-Methods.pdf Socks is the most often overlooked item, with "I don't know where they are." as the most common response. My mantra has been, as long as it is official, they are fine... Not sure how I will react when I see a Scout wearing these: And yes, there are a few Scouts in our Troop who will wear them just to get attention, be funny, or be different... Maybe the PLC will set a common sense rule for the unit?  A Scouter can hope... Side note:  how much staff time, money on market research and procurement, advertising development, etc., do you think was spent on this? Nero fiddled while Rome burned.
    • Totally agree with that! For some reason I feel like that is an easier maneuver...direct intervention and guidance seems appropriate there and less so in the overall direction the scouts are taking.
    • Forget everything else and deal with this right here before making any plans. Part of the patrol method is everyone puts in work. EG: Post grubbing up everyone pitches in to clean up and put the patrol box away. The PL might be drying while the 11yr old crossover is scrubbing, but everyone is putting in work. If the troop has enough scouts to allow anyone to hold down the earth with their posterior then they should have another patrol.
    • I did find the World Scout Foundation 2024 Annual Report which was PUBLICLY released a couple of weeks ago. https://annualreport.worldscoutfoundation.org/2024/ As for Scouting America's complete 2024 Annual Report aka Report to the Nation, I have not found the complete report online. Maybe it will be available in its entirety at the National Annual Meeting or some time after.
