Yesterday my attorneys contacted me and informed me that my claim amount had been determined. After years of anxiety about what the outcome (I truly believed I deserved the maximum amount) my claim came in at 2.67 million. Yes, I know I will most like only get a fraction of that amount but the fact that my pain and suffering was valued at that amount is the most important aspect. In all honesty I cried, just like after 50 years of telling not one soul I finally opened up about what had happened to me. With the appeals and the court cases that may come up I know that this is not over yet, but I finally feel like I have crossed third base, and I am on my way to home plate. Over the past 22 hours I have thought quite a bit about how I have survived these past 6 years and the people that have given me moral support. I have reached out to those folks and thanked them. I now want to reach out to my survivor community on this forum and say thank you, without all of you I do not know how I would have made it. Thank you to Scouter Forum for giving me a place to vent my frustrations, state my opinions and allow me to interact with other survivors and not kicking me off the site. Thank you, moderators, for your patience. I am sure some of my posts made some of you cringe. I want to thank @ThenNow for always having my backside no matter how outrageous some of my posts were. Our DM's to each other always made me feel like I had a brother standing next to me. I want to thank the TCC (I am sure there are members here on Scouter Forum). I know that all of you took on an almost impossible thankless task that was never going to please everyone. One last thing (at least for now) @skeptic please no sad or confused faces. Maybe this will be the one post that you can give a green up arrow to that I have written. Thank you all, John -

I suspect the unwarranted delay in updating the Eagle Scout certificates results from the lack of diligence by all parties involved. Further, I do not believe this results from a change in presidential administration. These delays have been going on since the third quarter of 2024. I recently attended the Eagle Court of Honor for a Scout who completed the first semester of his college freshman year before receiving his certificate. In my own troop a Scout completed his Eagle Board of Review March 10, 2025. The documents were submitted to the council the next day. To date he has not even received the letter provided in an earlier post. A further complication is that the Eagle Scout insignia set is a controlled item sold at the Scout Shop only on presentation of the certificate. This week I went to the Scout Shop to purchase his insignia. I had the Scoutbook Troop Recognition Report showing his rank date and my own Eagle Scout card from 1970. My thinking was that if the purchase were denied for lack of proper documentation, I would claim the purchase as my own to replace my insignia that had been lost. Fortunately, there were no difficulties with the purchase as I was not the first to effect a solution. The Scout is now planning his Eagle Court of Honor. -

@jcousino would you please cite your source, and provide a link for your claim? G2SS makes no prohibitions on model rocketry. The only model rocket parameters discussed anywhere that I know of are in Space Exploration MB, which says in Requirement 3, " Build, launch, and recover a model rocket.* Make a second launch to accomplish a specific objective. (Rocket must be built to meet the safety code of the National Association of Rocketry. See the "Model Rocketry" chapter of this pamphlet.) Identify and explain the following rocket parts: NOTE: *If local laws prohibit launching model rockets, do the following activity: Make a model of a NASA rocket. Explain the functions of the parts. Give the history of the rocket. Since the National Association of Rocketry was a sponsor of the event, I'd bet the rockets in the challenge had to meet their standards. Ironically, the G2SS DOES PROHIBIT this activity. See Prohibited Activities, item #22 at https://www.scouting.org/health-and-safety/gss/gss07/#b 22. Intramural, interscholastic, or club sport competitions or activities. IMO, silly that this prohibition is in there, but it is there nonetheless. Nothing wrong with a group of Scouts competing, but BSA somehow says they just cannot compete AS a group of Scouts. SMH....What has the world come to? -

thank you for the welcome and advice. I ended up not using any machines. A 9 by 13 plastic with cool water and Downie soap and thirty minutes and gentle work. Then rinse and again cool water, vinyl gloves, a little bleach and gently work again, wait thirty minutes and work again, rinse well and hang over a plastic hanger to drip dry. It looks great. Let the other one like it was and there is quite a difference. Once again, I have a "work" sash and a a "show" sash. -

I had posted this: Initially, the total amount was $5.45 billion for 82,000 men. Then I was told that the amount to disperse was $2.6 billion. I assumed this was after the fees and such. (and yes, I know what happens when one assumes). I've wondered about double dipping as well.
