  1. Sounds like you're ready to lead then! Good luck. Talk to your leaders and COR
  2. Have you changed your life around? Meaning you are not hanging around people that could possibly put you in those situations again? Talk with the CM and ACM along with the COR if your heart is in the right place I cant see them turning you done, IF your life has changed. Remember that when you become a DL or any type of leader in Scouting YOU then REFLECT the Scouting Values and be a good Stewart.
  3. Yeap, I know my role very very well. First: I have only been in scouting for 5 years but I have come in on fire. Since then I have done ALL my training because I believe every scout Deserves a Trained Leader. We are preparing for Camporee, I am over Camp Site inspection, While discussing this with my SM I mentioned how important it is to setup a campsite properly, he said "We'll we don't do that" I just laughed and went about my business. Scouting for me is 24 hours. I am always thinking of ways to grow the program, I am though the only one with the Vision! I don't rock the boat YET! My SM knows I am upset about something, I am waiting for him to address the issue AS he should being the SM. In case I havent Mentioned it before, last year before I took WoodBadge our troop was Adult Lead!
  4. I'm right there with ya! what if the SM and ASM are incompetent?
  5. No problem I will explain We did, we called him back into the room and said specifically what we needed to work on a little more. I circled the specific Items. I get the lower rank, but he doesn't "get it" at a lower rank will he "get it" in a higher rank? For Temderfoot you have to explain what EDGE is, I personally have no issues with EDGE. If I ask what EDGE is and you can not specifically tell what what EDGE means then HOW are you going to teach someone else EDGE its a very very simple concept. My Troop ( I am just the committee chairman) isnt what I want it to be which is why my son (web1) will be going to a different troop..They need more camping! When he couldn't answer some of these cooking questions I looked at the ASM and another member of the board and said "He would probably know the ins and outs of a kitchen if he was using it more" I get that and I want them to build a better troop, but I am not just going to sign something off and be that troop that has all these boys and cant do a simple task of setting up a wash station.
  6. You can also use Survey Monkey, free program and its web based
  7. Had a BOR last Monday for Tenderfoot, He has his First Aid Merit badge and Cooking Merit Badge as well. He could not tell me the order of the cleaning pots, nor could he tell me why you keep chicken and hamburger meat separated but what really did him in was he couldn't tell me what EDGE stood for. He came back last night knowing those answers.
  8. Man you hit the nail RIGHT on the head, its amazing to me. My dad was involved in every sport I was a part of, my mom was hauling my sister to her cheer and gymnastic competitions. Today its a freaking chore to get them to a meeting! LAZY LAZY LAZY I pull my hair out
  9. That is correct, it is the CO equipment. If they kicked you out today they could theoretically lock up the trailer and keep it.
  10. UGH, I have a female leader that drags her boys to the shower EVERY NIGHT of EVERY campout! it gets annoying
  11. I understand Scouter915 and I agree it would bother me as well! Here is someone who is suppose to be upright and a just person showing something that has been stolen. As a youth I use to download free music, I know better now!
  12. Why is this even a question? I can understand "Can Opposite sex Leaders Share the Same Tent" NOT MARRIED? did someone miss that! Why would same sex leader BE Married?
  13. I am glad to know this! I have a couple of REALLY slow driving women and I always would lay back so they dont get lost. Now I can simply say NO Caravan, you are on your own. Which means I can arrive at camp a little earlier and less aggravated! good
  14. Also remember those 3 scouts have gear! so now that tent is even more crapped. A 4 man tent is ideal for 2 scouts and gear. I make my son (webelos) sleep on his own now, hopefully it will encourage the other Webs to get out of Moms tent! UGH
  15. I agree Scout Mom, that is what the committee is for. If one feels they are wronged then walk it up the ladder.
  16. Oh I totally agree, I have a SM just like that! I don't believe he is burnt out but I do believe he is tired of doing others work.
  17. IMHO Webelos are a little different that Tiger-Bears, yes they all should do their best but Webelos SHOULD complete Aquanaut to its fullest.
  18. Yours is just as much as a joke as mine. And you believe leaving makes it any better? Sorry, find another unit or stick around and make this one better. All we have is TIME! You cant reach anyone at home
  19. We have our schools broke up in the following 1stgade (OWN School) 2-3 Own School 3-4 Own School 5-6 own school SO It takes a little managing but we get them all covered - ROOM to room execpt 2-3. The have a morning tv programming and we record a video
  20. Sorry Jamist649 - I think you made the wrong decision. Agreed, you shouldn't be handling Finances. I think your goal should be organizing the committee and finding suitable people. GOAL 1 Support Staff
  21. Trying to explain that very thing to my daughter (16) Yes there is Free Speech but there is also consequences.
  22. YEAP- So my DE wanted to put together a Scouting Skill course. Whoever is boss is said "That's something for a volunteer to do"
  23. NICE! you know that is a very nice idea, never thought about that.
