This is BSA IT, it can't work. -
I stand corrected. The tips section the Wearing the Uniform section. Useless tips.

Well I thought I would look this up. Nice patrol activity BD. What scouting aims does "Language such as 'f**k,' 'b*tch,' and 'sh*t' can be heard in the dialogue." support ? Call of Duty: Black Ops Share on facebookShare on emailShare on twitterShare on printMore Sharing Services Platform: Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Rating Category: M 17+ Content Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language Other: Includes online features that may expose players to unrated user-generated content (Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) Rating Summary: This is a first-person shooter in which players control a U.S. soldier who works for the C.I.A. and participates in both well-known and secret events during the Cold War (e.g., skirmishes, stealth espionage, assassinations, and interrogations involving torture). Players use a wide variety of weapons such as pistols, rifles, machine guns, and explosives to injure/kill enemies. Combat can generate pools of blood and dismembered limbs. Players can use enemy bodies as human shields and execute them at close range. In one sequence, broken glass is placed into the mouth of a man while he is repeatedly punched, causing blood to spill from his mouth. Language such as 'f**k,' 'b*tch,' and 'sh*t' can be heard in the dialogue. http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=29949&Title=Call%20of%20Duty%3A%20Black%20Ops

Ad a kegorator and some removable brass poles and you could make some good coin on bachelor parties. Just sayin.

No mention of "tips" I can in this section. Boy Scouts of America > Cub Scouts > Parents > Uniform & Awards > The Cub Scout Uniform Who said anything about telling a scout he was out of uniform ? Not I. This thread is about cub scouts. Pants are $25, not $50. Did you read post #3 ? I am no uniform zealot (except the class b nonsense).

Accept Partial from Camp I know was not complete ?

It is not clear who you are responding to. -
Do you know what this is BD? It is called a smiley. Humor, jest, fun. Laugh once in awhile, it is good for you. Have some fun. I don't think you are an idiot and I fail to see how you imagine I do. You however are directly calling me an idiot. That is conduct unbecoming of a Scouter.

DO NOT mix uniform parts with non-uniform clothing, such as wearing a uniform cap with other clothing or wearing the uniform shirt with blue jeans. The uniform should be treated as a unitâ€â€worn in its entirety, or not at all. http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/CubScouts/Parents/Awards/Parents.aspx

You said there were no available MBCs. I said I trusted YOU.

Official BSA policy is full uniform or no uniform. A child will never be denied the benefits of scouting because of a uniform, per BSA policy. There are zealots on this forum that will pipe in shortly and say if you can't get a uniform you shouldn't be in scouting. It is not just the cost of the shirt but also the patches and getting them sewn on. Until recently I just used blue Wally World pants for cubs and they could wear them to to school also. I hate jeans period. That said the worst is wearing an unkempt uniform in whatever means you have it. At least button it properly and tuck it in. Don't look sloppy. There is no such animal as a "class b" uniform. That is called an Activity uniform. On that point I am a zealot.

BD, this is simple. Video tape him fulfilling the requirements. We can phone/webcam/FaceTime the book stuff. I am going to council next week to sign submit my app for swimming and cooking MBC. I will take your word on any completed requirements. Or talk to the Aquatics Director at your local Y and explain to them how painless it is to become a swimming MBC. the Y can drive traffic to their instruction program for kids that need lessons.

"......currently I have a patrol in my basement playing Black ops or some other shooter game....." BD the enabler. Though I don't have a clue what the difference between black ops and call of duty are. Not my thing and I only have an old Wii.

Blue cards-why is there not a better way?
King Ding Dong replied to Brewmeister's topic in Advancement Resources
My understanding is it does not leave the troop, just reported then given back to the scout. But yes, photos of everything including handbook. -

My revoke eagle comment was in jest. I was also unaware the day of service was sprung on them. -

King Ding Dong replied to Brewmeister's topic in Advancement Resources
My council does not use the blue cards, they have a white one withe the signatures on the front and requirements on the back, so no redundancy built in. Not sure why they went with their own form. Are their many othe councils that don't use them ? Why ? -
Neckers - When did the colors for each rank begin?
King Ding Dong replied to blw2's topic in Cub Scouts
Why not? For over a century scout hats have been worn indoors. I really don't know where this nonsense is coming from. Just the other day, I watched an adult leader ask her scouts to remove their hats during the national anthem. The hat is (an optional) part of the uniform, you don't remove it during the national anthem or a flag ceremony (whether indoor or outdoor). Rick, I was not aware it is considered rude to wear a hat indoors until a Tiger den was politely addressed about it by a Major. Fired up the Google machine and it seems this has always been the case but norms have been changing. Come to think about it, in all the old movies the men always removed their hat indoors or when addressing a women. The rules may have been ignored in scouts because if they take off their hats the boys will misplace them or a big argument ensues about which hat belongs to whom. "Just keep the darn thing on". The expression "handed your hat" is from someone removing the hat of another person wearing it indoors and handing it to them. Here is one link with some explanations. http://www.advancedetiquette.com/blog/life/hat-etiquette/ -
I really, really like the parental involvement requirement. Outstanding. Unfortunately this will go over about as well as it did for Jerry Maguire. Dont tell me to just do this stuff in the book, tell my how to do it and where I can get all this stuff. Tell me how to make it fun. Many leaders and parents are on their first time through and don't realize some of these tasks are the building blocks for eagle required work. Point it out for them so they don't see it as busy work.

The bear trick works real well up until about Webelos, after that they kind of know there are no more bears around here anymore. Copperheads and water moccasins still work.
