We have simultaneous RT for Cubs and BS and I attend whichever one is not covered by another leader. We had a great one last spring on troop interent presence. Three troops demonstrated their solutions using a projector with lots of Q&A. It was great. Our district also offers pressurized fuel training immediately after RT most months. For cubs my favorite is to show me HOW to make it fun without spending tons prep time or money. Something the national should be doing.

A boss of mine had a mantra "bring me solutions, not problems." I dont think he would have been happy if my solution was to fire everyone and shut down the company.

While I agree, Webelos is to much book work and low on adventure, where do you see the problem in the lower Scout ranks ? I see very little book work. Sure there is some like reading about plants and the identifying them or reading about first aid and then demonstrating what you learned. Is the problem with the program or with all the other opportunities available. In my world the biggest competitor is hyper competitive sports. It's all about teams, leagues, tournaments and trophies, not about having fun playing a game.

Whatever you think will happen to wait times.....at least you will have to opportunity to receive non urgent care. If you think there is a better way to provide care it needs to be proposed and debated. Where were the proposals from the other side ? What did Bush propose ? Stripping the ACA of funding streams is not fixing it. If there are plans to fix shortfalls, let's hear them ? Can you honestly say the system "works" ? I am open to limiting health care options for those less able to afford premium care. Anytime you bring that up someone on the right starts yelling "Death Panels!"

Hey Brew, what happened in the 96 House elections ?

The implication seems to be no OA elections. When we do the out of council election form we have to sign saying we will camp in council the following year. I mentioned this before and was resoundly told by this board "they can't do that". I just haven't looked into it yet to see what the real deal is. Maybe they are just trying to intimidate.
