Sounds great. Where is Wisconsin ?

That's a tough one. What about the parent that says you can't get your drivers license until you get your Eagle ? Or if you want to go on that senior trip ? I suspect many parents use a stick or carrot. I suppose a lot on how it framed. Prove to me you can be responsible if you want the use of my car.

Due to several of the boys in the after school care program it makes attendance much easier and will help greatly in the winter months. Overall it will be better as we can do more outside activities. Though we me need to move whittling chip off-site.

SR540, i find it a real stretch to claim the republicans want to cut the little guys taxes. The vast majority of any tax cuts they propose go to the top. I think about that EVERY time I go to the ballot box.
-
Thanks. That stuff is great.
-
Republicans are the ones who like to cut taxes with no clue where the money is going to come from. Everyone knows the whole gerrymandering garbage is the root of all this nonsense. If we can't find a way to fix it and fast this will be a never ending cycle. This whole Hastert Rule crap has got to end. This is democracy ?

Oh boy! you are really in trouble now. You let the Webelos use a Power Tool ? That is soooooo against Age Appropriate Guidelines. I bet by morning if you look down the block you will see a green Suburban parked with a guy named Richard in it. It's the GTSS Cops, they are everywhere. Worse than Johnny Fever's Phone Cops. If you had only used a manual machine you would have been fine.

Nice find ADC. Can't get much more official than the National Advancement Committee's news releases. Well that just about settles it. Except what to do with the June Tigers. Carry on.

That was Peter King and Charlie Dent if I recall. Northeast Republicans, almost an extinct species. Something is seriously wrong when King sounds sane and reasonable. Where is the 30B going to come from ? They didn't answer that one. Never negotiate with terrorists. I think they have about 30-40 vacancies at Gitmo. Any Scouts have plans for a National Park trip soon ?

Well you can certainly inform the leadership at all,the units in a reasonable distance of the problems. Also only directly send his TWH reports directly to his new unit with a nice note. Let him find out if the grass really is greener. After you cool down, think about what might be going on with the kid. Hormones can be powerful. If he was a good scout 2 months ago maybe a 30-60 day break from troop activities is in order while he sorts things out. Have you ever written anything you latter regretted ? Well maybe not YOU, but most people have. -
Camping / Sleeping Arrangements / Safe Scouting

Hmmm, so BSA isn't concerned about swinging and orgies. -
Just out of curiosity is your CO LDS ? So just who is supposed to pay for all the crafting supplies ?

But what if you have a hotel tent with a zippered separate room and egress ? How is that different from a cabin with a sheet dividing the bunks ? -
For that to work everyone needs to drink the Flavor Aid., . "Ok all I am going to take my drugs now so I can sleep, you all have fun listening to me saw all night". I have been known to fall asleep without it occasionally, but most times it is a no go. If I do pass out the wife makes sure I put my "#%£\**+] mask on!"

Did you miss a comma or is Mom the CC ? Is this your SPL you have been concerned about ? -

Hmmm, that would certainly make advancement a challenge, but yes a good thing for the boys to focus on. -
What's all this obsession over knots?

The Scouts can just grab Fifty Shades of Grey from Mom's nightstand. -
Than you for your service to scouting. Go where you are wanted. I wish our pack and troop had some experienced Scouters to help out.

Didn't The Vatican offer indulgences recently for following the Pope's Twitter feed ? Maybe your Diocese could offer some similar for taking VIRTUS ? That is certainly more involved than following Twitter.
-
Well if you like the one man show all is well. If you don't, talk to the institutional head about it or shop for a new pack. The unit gets to pick its leaders. What does the CM think about it ? Isn't it just dandy when others decide your health care issues for you.

Is this board run the the Feds ? I don't remember media mentioning Scouter.com was shutting down to. I missed all the messed up, pre-coffee morning posts today. What's up ?

Lol. Or a woman who wants to be married but doesn't want relations because it is "messy"

No your Missing the Point. Order of the Arrow was started to keep the Older Youth involved in scouting. To Give scouts who at the time had reached the Highest Rank Time (First Class Scout) something to do. To Offer Opportunity to socialize and Serve at the Same time. You would make all Youths suffer based on Your poor Lodge ? I see Oa as a Whole folding because of Lack of Participation unless they start Doing stuff besides requiring Membership to WORK WORK WORK. Lodges that survive and Thrive have Fellowships..be it Movie Nights, Pizza Parties, Camping Trips, and other social Events. There is More to OA EVENTS than just dressing up as "INDIANS". Last SR2-3N Conclave we Had Tug-a-war, Dodge Ball, Archery, Rifle Shooting, Even shot off a Cannon. We had Banana Split Eating Contest, We had someone Bring out a Collection of King Snakes, We carved a Totem to be placed at the Camp. Yes the was a Pow Wow for the Dancers, however the was a Ice Cream social at the same time for the NonDancers. Everyone was not forced to participate in the Pow Wow. Nor was everyone forced to take part in the Ceremonies competition. Maybe we need to Organize a National Camping Society inside scouting for those who like to Camp and Not Dress Like Indians or a National BBQ Society in side for Scouting for those who like to BBQ instead of Dressing Like Indians or a Zoological Society for those who Like Animals instead of Dressing like Indians or a Civil War society for scouts who want to Dress like Soldiers instead or we could continue with just one Honor Society, adapt and allow the Youths to participate and Socialize. Embrace the Membership and Welcome New Membership with Fellowship, not just Hard Labor all the Time. National OA is always considering closing poor Lodges..there is a Reason Lodges Fail, just ask Membership who have stopped coming why they did. The biggest Reason BOREDOM Lol. Thanks for one font size with that rant. I am not OA, so I do not know OA, but I can see your point. My kid likes to work, but after about 2-3 hours he is ready for something else. He also doesn't eat much, but gets real cranky when he misses a meal (so do I). My uncle was an Eagle and in the OA in the 60's, I remember him telling me about the 1 match and 1 egg thing for 24 hours and I asked him about it yesterday. He honestly can't remember what I he did with it, but says it might have been to light a smoke. If they still give the a match and an egg for 24 hours and make them work all day I can't imagine many coming back either.

Jp, you have a lot of great things to say. Are you having fun with learning text editing ? The big fonts are starting to sound like shouting. BTW, I don't have problems with churches, I have a problem with CLERGY.
