Update 3/12/2020: A 23-year-old man who plowed his pickup truck into member s of GSUSA Troop 3055 picking up trash on the side of a Wisconsin road, killing three 4th grade scouts and one adult volunteer, was sentenced Wednesday to 54 years in prison to be followed by 45 years of extended supervision. Colten Treu pleaded no contest in December to four counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and guilty to one count of hit and run causing bodily harm. He had originally pleaded not guilty to all charges. On Wednesday, he addressed the families of his victims. "I screwed up bad. No matter what I say or do, you guys are never going to know how sorry I really am," Treu said, according to NBC affiliate WEAU. "I can't give back what I have taken. I want to. The BSA successfully lobbied to change the WV Constitution. In Nov, 2014, voters approved the amendment which allowed just one non-profit (BSA) to rent their facilities to for-profit groups. As far as I know, the Summit has not been financially self-sustaining as promised.

The Sea Scouts is open to boys and girls. The numbers have grown to 15 registered members, and they meet twice a month, the second and fourth Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Tuckerton Seaport’s Hunting Shanty. Seven of the 15 registered members, ages 14 to 21, are already Eagle Scouts, but the others can work on their Eagle Scout ranking while in the Sea Scouts. Some of the Eagle Scouts are now working toward their Sea Scout Quartermaster rank. Erin is already familiar with being on the water as her father was on the sailboat racing circuit, and Julianne takes part in the Navy Junior ROTC at her high school. If the GSUSA is granted relief to proceed with the trademark lawsuit in NY, is the GSUSA then removed from the Chapter 11 select creditor panel? I did not understand their selection as their claims appear wholly based on damages yet to be "proven" in that trademark lawsuit.

At Chamberlayne, an Episcopal boarding school, Williams was an outstanding student. Not only did he excel academically, Williams was also captain of the Chamberlayne Corps, a youth military training group; president of the Jackson Literary Society; and an active member of the Boy Scouts. Because of these activities, the school’s principal described Jack as being “endowed with gifts of no ordinary kind” and filled with “limitless possibilities.” However, it was Jack’s willingness to serve his community that ultimately led to his death during the 1918 flu pandemic. Against his parent’s wishes, Jack volunteered with his Boy Scout troop to transport sick flu patients from their homes to the newly established emergency hospital in John Marshall High School. That close contact with flu would prove fatal. Williams succumbed to the virus on October 11, 1918, and died on October 16—only five days later. As in other places, Richmond had no vaccines and no antibiotics to treat the secondary infections that accompanied the virus. Medical professionals and city officials could only rely on isolation, quarantine, general personal hygiene, and limited group gatherings. It was unclear to me whether the first committee would also represent scouts who were victims of other injuries, e.g., dehydration, car accidents, ... I am also puzzled by the use of term "survivor" instead of "victim" in documents.
