    This has been on my mind. Maybe a well-trained, trusted elite ranger scouting group that can go on outings , service activities without adults.

    My understanding, Ms. Ireland wants admission into Boy Scouts now so she can meet all the same Eagle requirements by her 18th birthday. Time is not on her side.

    It bothers me when real scouts are not used in photos, like the fake Eagle Scout with TWO Camping merit badges on his sash who appeared on the back of merit badge pamphlets. Those girls can't be Cub Scouts yet, right?

    As I recall, she has been a scout in Canada and a Venturer in US. Her family is heavily involved in Scouting; her brother is an Eagle. As she said earlier , "I am 16 and have been an unofficial member of the Boy Scouts for 12 years. I tagged along with my older brother, wearing the same uniforms, earning badges and learning to camp along with the other boys. ...     All too common. I joined a troop where only the ASM's had scouts in the troop; the Troop Committee were all grumpy lifers. Term limits anyone? Let me know if you want the Topic title changed.

    Bridgeville town council in November voted to rename Locust Alley to Eagle Way in honor of BSA Troop No. 2.     @an_old_DC have you heard of other "soft launch" councils? So far, this is the only one which I have found.

    I don't think girls do primary colors. Camelian or Crimson neckers maybe, but definitely not Red.

    IMO girls, particularly girls who excel in classwork, will have an easier time than boys in completing the current Eagle requirements. If they should comment "it was easy", then I think we will see a return to harder requirements, maybe even pull-up minimums in Personal Fitness. Good-bye 300lb Eagle scouts.

    It will be interesting to hear more about Council plans. Maybe that Council will delay Spring Cub recruitment until Fall.

    Does anyone recall if National, Council, or his SM contacted the school system or otherwise spoke on that Eagle Scout's behalf? IMHO, it would be helpful if the back of the Totin' Chip had a what-to-do list and phone contacts for when a scout's knife wanders into a restricted location.

    The Alamo Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America will invite girls to join Cub Scouting from January to May 2018. This “soft launch” will be open to girls currently in kindergarten for Lions, and girls in the first through fourth grades in Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos I, a BSA spokeswoman said. Cub scout dens will be single-gender: all boys or all girls. The official launch will be at the beginning of the 2018/2019 school year.
