An atheist professor was teaching a college class and he told the class that he was going to prove that there is no God. He said, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you 15 minutes!" Ten minutes went by. He kept taunting God, saying,"Here I am, God. I'm still waiting." He got down to the last couple of minutes and a Marine just released from active duty, and newly registered in the class, walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him flying from his platform. The professor struggled up, obviously shaken and yelled, "What's the matter with you? Why did you do that?" The Marine replied, "God was busy; He sent me." Semper Fi

The edit feature let me pull that response to Packsaddle back in. It would've made me look like a right winger!(This message has been edited by Trail Pounder)

I should have said "transition" instead of trying to use words that I have no idea how to spell.

The Outdoor Bronze award fits perfectly.

So, in the famous words of Gen Ted Roosevelt Jr on Utah beach on D-Day when the first waves landed and everyone was assembled in the wrong spots, he said, "We'll start the war from right here." I can't have half my crew wearing an OA flap and the other half not only not having one, but not even eligible. I'll start this campaign from right here.
-
NJCubber, I'm curious about the flag removal for religious beliefs....could you lay that out more in detail for me, please?
-
I don't think I'll wear one either, until OA accepts Venturing and Sea Scout females age 14-21 in.
-
Yeah, it was a gas.

Could the Indian tribes been guilty of making huge, big HUGE, political mistakes the last 250 years that got them where they are today? 1760's - French and Indian War. The Americans and the British fought the French and who? Well the French and their allies didn't win. You don't get rewarded for fighting on the losing side. 1770's - The American Revolution. The Americans fought against the British and their Indian allies, you guessed it, the British and their allies lost again. The Tories and the Indians were not looked on highly after the war. The War of 1812. The British, Canadians, and Indians try to take out the new country. But Ole Hickory said we could take 'em by surprise, if we didn't fire our muskets til we looked 'em in the eyes. They burned our capitol, but the British were sent back across the pond and their Indian Allies who murdered farmers and settlements up and down the frontier, weren't looked highly upon once more. Civil War. The Indians fought with the Confederate Army. For one hundred years they choose the wrong side in every war. If they backed the Good Old Americans when they should have, they might not have been in the pickle they were in around 1870-1890.

In the 1760's the Pottawatomi wiped the Illiniwek from the face of the earth, every man, woman, and child of them. The Pottawatomi then roamed the entire length of Illinois from Chicago to Prophetstown. Did this not happen between tribes throughout earlier history across the continent? Don't even try to say it didn't occur. Law of the jungle. Survival of the fittest. Instead of all this "bad white man stuff", the costner movie and the rest of it.... Would the white people who arrived in Jamestown and all the other points be descended from the tribes of Europe. Instead of bad white people, wouldn't it be more correct to say the descendants of the Picts, Celts, Angles, Saxons, Normans, Goths, Visogoths, Vandals, Hun, etc formed a confederation and that tribe now rules the jungle?

Commucide or Deutchercide, or even Africide seem to be the highlights of the 20th Century. The peace loving American people sure don't measure up against these European, Asian, and African killing machines. Hmmm. Mao, Uncle Joe, and Adolf didn't go it alone. They had hundreds of thousands of willing executioners.

Across the ocean came these dirt poor, starving farmers from Central and Eastern Europe came to farm on a couple acres of dirt to feed their hungry families. The Sac and Fox and Pottawatomi who ranged all across the Northwest Territories of the early 1800's had plenty of land to hunt on. Heck, there's still enough land to hunt on. Who here is brave enough to wear a furry brown coat anywhere in Wisconsin in November? Not me. Let me continue. The Sac and Fox and Pottawatomi, who by the way, committed genocide upon the Illiniwek Confederation, didn't want to let these poor starving farmers till a few acres of dirt, so they would come upon a farm and wipe out the family. What kind of stud finds it so heroic to cut the top of a little girl's head off and count it as a War Victory? These farmers never hurt anyone and never affected the hunting grounds. They wore those little blonde girl's scalps as badges of honor. I don't find that too honorable.

The 7th Cavalry got those field guns laid on pretty well. Probably not a real smart thing to do, pick a fight with the cavalry when your outnumbered three to one with your families present.

What's the book say about wearing the Eagle pocket badge on the spruce green Venturing shirt for a youth member 18-21? Would the knot be optional?

Super, then our children's children's children may live in peace without the threat of muslim terrorists flying commercial aircraft filled with innocent passengers into skyscrapers filled with innocent civilians. I've heard that until the wealth is redistributed into the middle east that terrorism will be ongoing. The Saudi's import workers and slaves to do their work both in their homes, compounds, and palaces and in their businesses. The only Saudis living in poverty our the Bedouin who choose to live in a tent with their goats. They don't need any more wealth. They have all the oil, so why do they want to kill Americans, any Americans? It's a war created for those murderous muslim zealots who have gone overboard, and created by billionaire Bin Laden for his pleasure and sport. To my brother (tall skinny Trail Pounder) who's been in Afghanistan and Iraq, keep your powder dry, your tomahawk sharp, Godspeed and Good Hunting!
