  1. Call the Ag Dept. I know which canadian ate those mad cow burgers!!!
  2. In Vietnam, the only fight the Americans lost were several platoon sized engagement or smaller. The soldiers and marines won their part every time, the politicians lost their part. And the last time Canada contributed significantly in or to any world crisis was, well, uh, hmmm, right, I dunno either.
  3. You could actually say that Mr. Steele provides a valuable information service to the 1400 Scouters, 3 female Venturers and 2 Senior Patrol Leaders on this forum.
  4. nothing changed here except that my cowardly brother is serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. then again, consider the source, a bunch of pathetic unemployed socialists hanging out in a coffeehouse, while sponging off their parents for a leaving. No, it was me laughing!
  5. Bob, we fought the Germans twice last century and the British twice the century before that. Today nobdy, tomorrow...... We've had buglary's in the neighborhood. When I wake up due to a bump in the night or the viscious snarling of my attack trained guard Daschund, I'm not half asleep.
  6. Your English cousins turned all their personal owned firearms in to the government for safety also. Violent crime against innocent citizens is exploding in England which now has a higher violent street crime rate than New York City. The Nazis collected up all the guns too when they took over the government. When the time came for the German Militia to defend their Bunker Hill, it was too late, they'd already been neutered. In my humble opinion the militia would be every able bodied citizen ready to provide a defense. "shall not be infringed."(This message has been edited by Trail Pounder)
  7. Back in the mid 80's in Germany, my platoon sergeant and I had to go up to the Kaserne at Swabisch Gmuend for a meeting. Outside the front gate there were 40-50 people, from E-1 to 0-3, clustered off to the side of the gate milling around puffing away. There was a continous stream of 5-10 joining the cloudy cluster and leaving the cluster. The Task Force Commander banned smoking on post. The NCO club immediately went out of business and the owners of the bars outside the gates were ordering a new Mercedes. The troops in the barracks had to walk outside the mani gate to have a smoke, so their was a cluster even at 2:00 am. When I first enlisted there were no non-smokers. By the time I got out, I was one of the few smokers and marathon running and 10K races were becoming popular sporting events. I quit six years ago, when my kids were born, I guess that's what it took for me. I tried to quit often while in the army, always on a Monday and my squad would instantly know I was trying again, my disposition gave me away. They would light one and hand it to me, I could pass once or twice but, within the hour, I'd always take one. Rambling over.
  8. I see commandopro posting on a Thursday at 10:00 am and a Friday at 1:30 pm. Hmmmmmm. Easy now friend.
  9. We'll be there bright and early Saturday morning for breakfast. We'll save you a seat.
  10. Dave, Why of course! The Premier University of Scouting in the Midwest! So you do, LBPU!!! Best Wishes for the New Year!! The Trail Pounder must get the vacuum cleaner going and showered before she gets back with the goodies or he's road kill. (This message has been edited by Trail Pounder)
  11. Being the High Speed Low Drag SPL of Troop 15 and future Eagle Scout, you should be the first one to sprint down to the Scout Shop and get one on your freshly laundered and pressed uniform as an example to all your PL's and the rest of the troop. Good job!
  12. I've read other statistics that state upwards of 2.5 million crimes are prevented by the threat of a firearm, the display of a firearm, or the actual sending rounds down range. My kids are getting pretty good getting into position aquiring a bull and putting some lead on target. The more time on the range they get and the more cleaning of rifles and pistols they do the less and less curious they've become. I've read how the anti-gunners scewer the stats to include teen gangbangers and teen drug dealers and then claim and sell it like it is kids being killed by an accidental shooting in their own homes. The 2nd Amendment protects all the rest of them!
  13. 39 states allow a trained law abiding citizen the right to carry if they so choose, Illinois is not one of them. Can we sell cede Chicago to Wisconsin?
  14. As many of you know from news reports, a home invasion earlier this week was foiled by a homeowner who shot the perp twice. The criminal fled the house by jumping through a window and was later arrested at the hospital. Also arrested was the homeowner because Wilmette, IL, the town in which he lives, prohibits its citizens from owning handguns. This incident again illustrates the folly of denying citizens the right to access the best means of self defense available - the handgun.
  15. I have some flank steaks from a Mad Cow to feed the beast...
  16. It's just too bad you can't fit in all the courses you want to take!!!!
  17. Yeah, Okay. Ayn Rand, LOL!!! You take care! (This message has been edited by Trail Pounder)

  20. What a load. The President's grandpa is now the target of the looney left and taliban johnny is a victim. What a load.
  21. Thank you DS, have a Merry Christmas!!!
  22. What would be involved in turning our crew into a Sea Scout Ship? What in your opinions would be the advantages/disadvantages. All I'm seeing is that we could do all the Venturing and add the opportunity to do the Sea Scouting. Thanks for any opinions.
  23. if I was an illegal enemy combatant I know I sure would rather be a prisoner of the United States than north korea, cuba, the former iraq and taliban regimes, iran, lybia, syria, and on and on with the exception of Monnaco. Being a POW of Prince Ranier would probably be a better lot in life than sitting in a can at Gitmo.
