It would be nice if the district or council set up a parallel activity for scouts while their parent is being trained. Any onsite training, round table, etc. is a tough sell to my wife. Most parents either need to be working, taking care of the house, or spending time with their kids. The only reason I'm talking about Scouts online with internet friends right now is because everyone in my household is still sleeping.

Add School Board members to the list.

We use Google G-Suite for all of our Troop stuff. It allows you to create email groups for communication. Yes, email is a little old fashioned these days but the only form of communication you can effectively assure that adults are involved in all communication and therefore allow to be in compliance with YPT as much as possible. I accept the fact that there will always be other tools used between the Scouts (Discord, Whatsapp, Messenger, etc.) but the email groups allow for easy setup and control of what is being communicated.

Yes, that was my intent. Sorry. We have chosen to no longer do the Popcorn, as it is NOT a good look due to the prices and such. Also, with YP, keeping scouts in front of stores and so on is challenging should we say? Thank you.

They get a cut of the ones that they coordinate.

What I am saying is they can forbid any fundraising they choose to. If they don’t want to approve any other fundraising besides popcorn for 6 months, they can do that.

Compounding the problem, we have scouts who want to go to camp, but struggle with the cost. Our council does "Camp Cards"(little coupons with discounts to local businesses I think) that are sold by scouts interested in getting financial assistance for camp. I have been told that in order for our troop to be eligible to participate in the camp card program, we MUST participate in the popcorn program.
