  1. As Assistant Cub Scout roundtable commissioner for our district, I along with our CSRC were tasked with presenting the new program changes. at our December meeting we showed the powerpoint listed on the program updates page. If you look closely there are printed "notes" to go along with the presentation. If you read those while showing the slideshow, its a good place to start. If you haven't seen the updated roundtable topics on the new program give me your email and I will forward what I have to you.
  2. Are you looking at a training event for your unit? or a more broad leader based training, like at a district level?
  3. How many of us scouter.com members will be online during the saturday AM webcasts? I will be
  4. nah, that wouldn't be as much fun as this though......
  5. Got em in the mail today! I will give them a good look over and some serious thoughts
  6. Our council did this as a spring fundraiser last year and it flopped majorly. The main buisnesses on the card were located in or near the city our Council offices are, which are 4 + hours away from a lot of the units in our council.
  7. Our troop is in a similar position that the article describes. New, small, young troop with 2nd class being the highest rank. We are working on getting them to lead themselves. With their age and having very little to no leadership skills at this point we feel its better to step in and at least provide some sort of program teaching them the skills they will need as the troop grows and they get older. As opposed to letting them falter, having them lose interest and quitting the program altogether.......
  8. This isn't a thread, its a stand alone forum.........
  9. I didnt' realize we were going to nit pick over a week and a half......
  10. Since we are nearly at the midway point between Jamboree's, can we re-title this forum Jamboree 2017?
  11. no, I just tend to lean against believing anybody that investigates themselves in general.

  13. Another classic case of "we have investigated ourselves, and found that we have done no wrong"
  14. oh, trust me, we will never "arrive" fully, with the constant rotation of parents, I know it'll be a constant topic to be worked out. And of course I'm sure there will be times where someone just ups and quits, or something similar. Having an idea of what to do in each situation will help in the long run.
  15. at our last roundtable, I presented the Powerpoint Presentation listed on the program updates page. As a district, we plan on covering this topic a few more times before the end of the school year, before the program goes live. After next month's webinar's I suspect we will know a lot more about what to expect and how to roll it out at the Unit level.
  16. If this was already posted please delete this. Last week i saw they have webinars for semi-position specific roles for the new updates coming. Starting January 17th you can participate in Cubmaster Specific, Den Leader Specific, and LDS specific webinars. http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/programupdates.aspx
  17. That's an interesting idea. I might bring something like this up to our committee for next year with the new program coming in. from what I've read so far, they are saying 3 meetings = 1 adventure, we can do 1 adventure and a pack meeting all in one month.
  18. There are too many variables to give one honest answer IMO. We host our Pack meetings on a sunday evening (supposed to be tonight for us, but weather caused us to cancel) Den meetings are every other Thursday. With other activities in our community going on, and varying schedules you really have to feel it out
