No requirements...no pamphlet...so if a scout registers for the merit badge can the MBC say at the first meeting, Well I can't add requirements, I guess you all pass. -

I become concerned when a party states do not use the ballot provided rather download our app and use that to vote. Was this Coalition app court approved? -

Our local technical high school received a state high tech grant which funded a first-rate HAAS CNC shop, oh they have Bridgeports , lathes, and my favorite - an anvil. Only a few students registered, so the school setup a cross-program with the local community college. No shortage of interested, more mature students. The tech teachers whom I have spoken say they want better students ahead of pay, benefits, new equipment.

I hear you. IMHO, for public institutions that has to be changed by taxpayers; we should not throw money at replicating chemistry labs, auto shops, ... While a DL, we met at the local playground which was on school property...until a new principal said we could not. This didn't sit well with many in the community who volunteered to build that playground after a tax increase to fund it. Her attitude was adjusted as was nearly her employment. My $0.02,

@ThenNow We should not be copying the whole article of a commercial publication, rather just quote a few excerpts while noting source. Also, that article is now paywalled. Judge Silverstein will "delay ruling on whether to shield mediation communications from discovery" while reviewing precedent and establishment of privilege. https://www.law360.com/insurance-authority/property/articles/1432329/boy-scouts-judge-mulls-if-mediation-talks-shielded-in-ch-11 -
..."The Roy Grindstaff Skilled Trades Center will provide scouts ages 13-18 the opportunity to earn the merit badges of automotive maintenance, electricity, home repair, painting, plumbing and welding. The facility will also include a classroom to accommodate hands-on skills presentations by volunteers who are experts in the trades’ fields." The center to be located at Boxwell Scout Reservation is scheduled to open next summer and was "made possible through a gift from the Maddox Foundation of Hernando, Miss. The Skilled Trades Center is a priority project of the Middle Tennessee Council’s Campaign for Boxwell Reservation. The $10.6 million effort (for renovating the whole camp - RS) is underway and just less than $7 million has been raised." A Scout is Thrifty.

Charter and ByLaws of BSA as amended through May, 2021 https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Charter_Bylaws_May2021.pdf Article III. The Executive Board, Section 2 Membership will drop from 64 to 40 members. Adding a single survivor is similar to having a single, token scout member on the National Executive Board. Zero impact. -

Oct 14, 2021 For comparison: A federal bankruptcy court in Minnesota has accepted a reorganization plan that would compensate sexual abuse survivors in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota signed off on the plan on Thursday after it was submitted by the diocese and the Committee of Unsecured Creditors, who represent the 145 abuse survivors. The diocese and committee reached a settlement in February for $21.5 million. Terms of the plan confirmed Thursday by the court call for the creation of a trust fund totaling just over $22,000,000 to compensate the survivors. It covers Diocesan assets, including the disposition of specific Diocesan assets and insurance coverage settlements of $6.5 million. The diocese filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2018. Since then, the diocese said it's been working toward a resolution of claims against the diocese and non-diocesan Catholic entities within the diocese. The statement from the diocese said the plan also includes the "implementation of enhanced non-monetary protocols for the protection of children which were first implemented by the diocese in 2002. Yes. You're right. My source. Plan 5.0 https://casedocs.omniagentsolutions.com/cmsvol2/pub_47373/da60d7ce-df85-45e9-9737-4dd1a5d50014_6445.pdf pg 429, total contribution $260,391 Unrestricted Net Assets $417,106 ...so I assumed the difference was the value of the unsold council property which I assumed unrestricted. I missed page 345, for Chief Cornplanter Council as of Feb 28,2021 Assets Cash & Equivalents $ 105.349 Land, Buildings, and Equipment 182.408 Long-Term Investments 957,394 Other Assets 154,223 Total Assets 1,399,374 Liabilities Debt Other Liabilities 33,515 Total Liabilities 33,515 Unrestricted Net Assets 417,106 Restricted Net Assets 948,753 Total Net Assets 1,365,859 I also missed page 363 Chief Cornplanter Camp Olmsted Fair Market Value $784,000 (assessed by CBRE) which must part of Restricted Net Assets above. "Camp Olmsted is located just 15 miles north of Warren, in the beautiful scenic mountains of the Allegheny National Forest in Northwestern Pennsylvania. It includes: 485 acres of natural woodlands, three miles of waterfront with access to the 24-mile long Allegheny Reservoir lake that was created in the summer of 1967. The lake has 91 miles of shoreline, primarily unspoiled, which allows for limitless water-skiing, motor boating and sailing usage." https://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/wm13Q8X_Camp_Olmsted_Chief_Cornplanter_Council_Russell_Pennsylvania Good catch. My error.

Yes. It is a word problem worthy of the SAT. Two Pennsylvania councils that serve parts of New Jersey with total assets of $23 million. John Lucas, the (TCC) panel's bankruptcy attorney, says New Jersey's share of the settlement alone should be closer to $44 million and with the two Pennsylvania councils should total $58 million so the two PA councils new TCC proposed total is 58-44 million = $14 million 14 / 23 -

By his math, NJ councils 78.6%, 2 PA councils that serve NJ 61%.
