  1. Hi jumpyg, I'd just pin them on top (or under) of the epaulet.
  2. I had troubles earlier today. Seems we can now.
  3. Stosh, This was in the context of usernames being hijacked to post spam. Double check the quote in the post.
  4. (emphasis added) OP's son is reporting what he heard the alleged offender say. It is not hearsay, since both accused and accuser can bear witness in "court". I think it is splitting hairs anyway. We are not the US legal system. The SM is well within his rights to simply have a conference with the scout. We're not talking about ripping patches off a shirt after all. Once it's signed off on, its done. The SM has a duty to vet MBCs. He should look into allegations of MBCs cutting corners. OP: Ask your son what he thinks of it and what he should do. His conscience will g
  5. Hey now, I'm legit. Depending on how you filter the latest posts, the flaggers sometimes appear to be the OP. I flagged both the English and Swedish spam posts. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.... My hypothesis is you'll know a flagger, because you won't be able to see the message.
  6. Be sure to add: http://www.scouter.com (not tongue in cheek either! "Da Forums" really get the cogwheels churning, even if your just reading)
  7. Can I get a little help finding the Facebook page please? Typed in scouter.com and got scouter comunidad.
  8. scoutmastercg.com podcast #240 Either Clarke has a backlog, or scoutmom wants different advice.
  9. Anyone recognize the first letter from the podcast from another forum today?
  10. I like running it up the flagpole one last time and folding prior to burning. I nice alternative to waiting on scouts to cut the flag up, narrating the siginicance of each portion, etc etc.
  11. From an email I received back from the advancement team regarding the minimum age, rank requirements, etc: (I bolded for emphasis) "The Central Florida Council provides this camping experience and has stated the criteria for a Scout to attend. This is not adding to the requirements for a rank or merit badge. Scouts are not required to attend this camp; the council is merely providing an opportunity to earn the merit badges being offered in their program. This doesn’t prevent a Scout for obtaining a contact from his unit leader for a merit badge he wishes to work on. In other words
  12. I wonder what the National Advancement Committee would think of: $275 fee Requiring scouts to be first class Requiring scouts to be 13 Requiring uniforms Requiring an interview "Blue cards will not be utilized" Add to requirements much? SeanScott1: Its not the A/C. Its the wrong place for these merit badges. period.
  13. Progress! I sent you a PM. Hope it helps.
  14. Welcome to the forms LMNOP. We are generally friendly if you forgive inside jokes too! Nice to have another Texan in the forum.
  15. I'm a fan of LED. I have a small 4A battery lantern the size of a medium flashlight that puts out 50 lumens. Decent for a table top, or it can be hung from a tree to light up a conversation area without attracting bugs. For inside my tent I have a small little globe lamp that is keychain sized that puts out 25 lumens and it lights up my 2 man tent rather pleasantly, with enough light to read. Its about an inch long and 1/2 inch in diameter. It was on an end cap at my local Bass Pro Shop. I'm trying to figure out if it is online as I want to buy at least 4 more in case I lose or damag
  16. I'm still trying to imagine KDD as angry and bitter. OP: If you're still reading, $40 is quite reasonable. $30 is an extreme bargain. KDD was asking legitimate questions in order to honestly help you. You should apologize for responding with name calling and generally being unscoutlike.
  17. BD, I am glad you are well. Sounds like you have some "good" problems to work! Hope to see you "shakin your head here" a little more often. koolaidman
  18. I've seen a church that chartered two units. One was huge (100+), the other not as big. One met on Mondays the other on Tuesdays.
  19. If having fun is your goal, I offer this suggestion: This requires two portion tickets, like you'd use for a raffle. Our former pack at one time had "on time" tickets for the pack meetings. Scouts who arrived before the meeting was to start were each given a ticket. During lulls in the pack meeting, the Den Chiefs or Cubmaster would draw a ticket out of they bowl, whoever had the matching ticket received a prize. Not all prizes were scout related, some were donated by businesses, some were bought on sale. There may just be about 2 cubbies in your pack that will actually save the
  20. There is a procedure for scouts to register beyond the date of eligibility in Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts: ~~ http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/guidetoadvancement/specialneeds/registerqualifiedmembers.aspx
  21. RememberSchiff: I wish I had more than 1 like to give. Good Stuff there, I don't care who ya are... (shhhhhh......Ima steal it!)
  22. Christineka, perhaps you could check with your surrounding districts and see if they offer the training? If your council offers training events check those too. I would also check your LDS guide to see if there is any additional requirements LDS expects that we non-LDS folk don't know about. Or better yet, print out the link TAHAWK provided, give it to your district training chair and let him know that you want the Merit Badge Orientation training. Can he make it happen? Keep up the good work. I can tell by your posts that your instincts are good.
  23. If I had a chance to do Web's over again, I'd do it differently. Instead of one or two entire meetings on one activity, do small parts of each activity over the course of several meetings. Each meeting gives a chance to review what was done previously and provides variety throughout the meeting. example: knot time, then first aid, the outdoors, then citizenship. If you have good related games, it should work. Anyhoo, just a thought I've been thinking lately...
