This looks like your nemesis: Xxxx Xxxxxxxxxx is the Scout Executive/CEO with the Boy Scouts of America, Xxxxx Council. In this role, Xxxx provides the leadership to the achievement of the council's philosophy, mission, and strategy, and to its annual objectives and goals within the 58 counties of [states withheld]. In 1990, Xxxx attained his Bachelors Degree majoring in Finance & Economics from the University of Tampa. Xxxx has been with the Council since 2011. He started his Scouting career in 1993 as a district executive for Xxxxx Council in Xxx, Xxxx and worked his way up to Senior District Executive in 1996 and then Finance & Marketing Services in 1999 for Xxxxx Council in Xxxxx, Xxx. In 2000, Xxxx moved to Xxxxx council in Xxxxx, Xxxxxx to work as a Finance & Marketing Director. In 2004, he worked as Director of Field Service for Xxxxxx Council in Xxxxx, Xxxxxx. From 2007 to 2011, Xxxx had been the Scout Executive of Xxxxxx Council in Xxxxxr, Xxxxx. If I'm reading this right, never a scout, started as DE with a Finance & Economics degree. Bean counter from day one. How long do SEs last before moving on? Enjoy your vacation.

Stosh, that's some unusually twisted logic you're weaving with! so: Character is what a person does (wears a chestful of knots) when no one is watching. When no one is at RT? Ah, no YOUTH at RT. The attitude of the adult (Blowing his own horn) is not dependent on the witness of others. sounds best in an empty room. Especially if it's a kudu horn? Sometimes one does things just because it's the right thing to do. And sometimes stroking your own ego is the right thing to do.

Bad Wolf gets an extra large brownie point!! Having the boys decide on adult awards would apply lots of leverage in good ways. 1- Adults would wear the awards. The boys that awarded you the patch would see if you wore it. Then you would be setting an example. (As opposed to wearing knots at RT where it's mostly social pecking.) 2- District personnel could come to the units for nominations/elections - and actually be SEEN at the unit level other than FOS...

If y'all have 60 to 75 Adults at Roundtable, good for you! So how are you setting an example for the boys, if they are not there?

"Eighth graders will be taught that individual identity “occurs over a lifetime and includes the component of sexual orientation and gender identity.†“Individual identity will also be described as having four parts – biological gender, gender identity (includes transgender), gender role, and sexual orientation (includes heterosexual, bisexual, and homosexual).â€" http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/05/15/call-it-gender-fluidity-schools-to-teach-kids-there-s-no-such-thing-as-boys-or-girls.html?intcmp=latestnews

This Gender Identity thing sure would have been useful to some people in 1970. "Son, your draft number is a single digit. Do you want to go to SE Asia, or Canada?" "Neither, Dad. I feel pretty. I'm a GIRL!"

Oh yeah! There's that attitude we love! Day pack? Man purse? What?!

I like flying under the radar. I don't have to worry about having chest bumping contests with Liberaces. I don't get 'volunteered' too often, so I can step up when I think I'm truly needed. The awards that are pins are in my chest-top drawer, I think, not poking me under a pack strap. And those Crayola Chests that dismiss me because I only wear the one knot? I dismiss them just as fast!

Damn Rat! Makes me want to buy you a beer. Bet it would be a nice nut-brown ale... http://lazymagnolia.com/#?post_type=brew

Unsolicited Troop Hosting Of A Camproee
JoeBob replied to oldisnewagain1's topic in Camping & High Adventure
Say what? My troop uses District for very little. ALL of what we get from District are things that District (or BSA) requires of us. Elaborate powerpoint training, complicated chartering, and, of course, FOS. a- MBCs are all in the troop. b- If we didn't have to do useless paperwork, District's help wouldn't be needed to fill out forms. c- If EBORs were moved back down to the troop, maybe we could get some better Eagle Scouts instead of 23 pages of certification. d- 'Districts administer popcorn sales'? Really? That's all you've got? Now that you make me think about it, we'll be much better off without District... *** Let's start a list of things that the individual Units NEED from BSA. Only items that don't have a non-Official BSA replacement for the same or lesser cost can be counted. Training: - First Aid - Red Cross - Shooting - NRA - CYA - Church programs (CYA = YPT) Council Camps - Nope. Parks and troop run summer camping trips work fine. Good values that would be hard to replace: 1- Summer Camp Waterfront. 2- Insurance. Is there anything else? -
Unsolicited Troop Hosting Of A Camproee
JoeBob replied to oldisnewagain1's topic in Camping & High Adventure
What an opportunity! District: "Troop XYZ is hereby charged with hosting Camporee." A week before Camporee, Troop XYZ: "Here's the schedule of responsibilities for the following District personnel. A list of materials to be provided in order to conduct your session is attached. We're camping somewhere else. Have fun!" -
Why Our Children Don’T Think There Are Moral Facts
JoeBob replied to Eagledad's topic in Issues & Politics
Okay, somebody has to stand up for the "Issues and Politics" forum! You guys are abusing this space. Can we start a forum for "Ethics, Morality, and Geometry"? -
A Scout Hut is a central repository of troop gear. But it's also a place to lose the keys to. A roof to repair and a floor to replace. A place to paint. A place to clean after that last trip just dumped all their gear... But the light bill's not too much.

Unless of course the new neighbors were cartoonists who happened to draw Mohamed; then the Muslim neighbor would kill them anyway. -

White Gas works fine. If you want higher octane, look around a racetrack. http://www.racegas.com/fuelfinder -

Lewis can handle this topic: Here Is New Fun One To Cheer Us All Up From Texas "Shoot low boys; they're riding Shetland Ponies!" LeCastor, you're just jealous that you don't have '0 warning points' under your profile. Let's them know that you have the potential to be a crazy! -

Nice hyperbole. Wait, you meant this to be taken seriously? -
Me too. At first. You don't have to color your text unless you need to insert multiple replies inside the same quote. It is occasionally a fight to get your cursor to move outside the box; using the down arrow has been the key for me.

It's an NPS tour brochure. 5 hours in the park gets you a badge. 10 hours gets a bigger badge. But at least they're thinking out doors!

Why Our Children Don’T Think There Are Moral Facts
JoeBob replied to Eagledad's topic in Issues & Politics
So what is murder? Justifiable Homicide, aka Trayvon Martin; Abortion to some people, and the Death Penalty to others. Murder is not a fact. About the only Moral Fact that I hope we can agree to is that Morals are a good thing to have. Even better is being able to stick to your Morals. -

The owners of Memories Pizza were very religious. And it showed in the store's decor: http://a.abcnews.com/images/Business/wbnd_memories_pizza_religious_02_jc_150401_4x3_992.jpg http://static1.businessinsider.com/image/551d4551eab8ea4e1ac2b3a4-915-545/screen%20shot%202015-04-02%20at%209.33.08%20am.png http://www.westernjournalism.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Memories-Pizza-YouTube-Scripture-II-750x442.jpg Which is how the TV 'News Reporter' knew to ask if this PIZZA JOINT would cater a gay wedding. They were singled out because of their religion. Now what are you going to tell the church COs?
