Why I mis-spoke, err copied, err, oh well

Recommended Posts

So, on the Asking about God in the Advancement thread, I sorta screwed up, well no I actually screwed up when I asked the question. I should have just copied the original post on take 2 and let it go. So if I mis-stated the original post, I am sorry as I recall I was under fire, yeah thats the ticket, I was under artillery, no, wait, mortar, no wait, sniper, yeah yeah thats the ticket I was under sniper fire and wasnt being cogent, yeah thats the ticket, I was under sniper fire so I am in no way responsible for my actions. Now I must get back to my wife, Morgan Fairchild

OGE, save your excuses for the IRS or maybe the overdue desk at the library. You don't need to explain anything, I (perhaps we) understand, and as far as I'm concerned it isn't even worth one 'Hail Mary'.;)

But the original thread was kind interesting. It was almost exactly like a bunch of boys sitting around the campfire, talking. One asks a thoughtful question...there's a bunch of opinions thrown around...some discussion...and then their ADHD minds spin off into unpredictable directions and first thing you know they're having a wacky song contest. What could be more endearing than that?

Only one thing could be more endearing - hijacking a mea culpa thread to try to get the process to repeat itself as a way of saying "We understand, and Don't Sweat It". Sooooo with that in mind...

Five-hundred Twenty-five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes

Five-hundred Twenty-five Thousand Moments So Dear

Five-hundred Twenty-five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes

How Do You Measure A Year

In Daylights, In Sunsets

In Midnights, In Cups of Coffee

In Inches, In Miles

In Laughter, In Strife

Five-hundred Twenty-five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes

How Do You Measure A Year In The Life

Well thanks guys, I guess I am a little down and singing does perk the spirit and so, I guess the next selection is obvious

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens

Brown paper packages tied up with strings

These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels

Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings

These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes

Silver white winters that melt into springs

These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites

When the bee stings

When I'm feeling sad

I simply remember my favorite things

And then I don't feel so bad

::Spoken with inflection from the famous Jim Mora "Playoffs tirade"

Mother-in-law? Mother-in-law, dont talk to me about mother-in-laws, this calls for major perk

Haul out the holly;

Put up the tree before my spirit falls again.

Fill up the stocking,

I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now.

For we need a little Christmas

Right this very minute,

Candles in the window,

Carols at the spinet.

Yes, we need a little Christmas

Right this very minute.

It hasn't snowed a single flurry,

But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;

So climb down the chimney;

Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen.

Slice up the fruitcake;

It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.

For I've grown a little leaner,

Grown a little colder,

Grown a little sadder,

Grown a little older,

And we need a little Christmas now

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving

And revolving at 900 miles an hour,

That's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned,

A sun that is the source of all our power.

The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see,

Are moving at a million miles a day

In an outer spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour,

Of the galaxy we call the Milky Way.

Our galaxy itself contains 100 billion stars

It's 100,000 light years side to side.

It bulges in the middle, 16,000 light years thick

But out by us its just 3,000 light years wide

We're 30,000 light years from galactic central point,

We go round every 200 million years

And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions

In this amazing and expanding Universe.

The Universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding

In all of the directions it can whizz

As fast as it can go, at the speed of light you know,

12 million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there

is.

So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure

How amazingly unlikely is your birth

And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space

Because there' bugger all down here on earth.

Snakes!

'Twas snake that tempted mother Eve

Because of snake we now believe

That though depraved

We can be saved

>From hellfire and damnation

(Because of snake's temptation!)

If snake had not seduced our lot

And primed us for salvation

It is a blessing in reverse

When canon roar

Both rich and poor

Philosophers make evident

The point that I have cited

'Tis war makes equal -- as it were --

The noble and the commoner

Thus war improves relations!

OK. Well, since this is a thread, spun from a thread, that was spun from a thread, that(I think) was spun from a thread that had something to do with God.....here is my lyrical contribution.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Praise Him all creatures here below!

Praise Him above ye Heavenly hosts!

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

Amen!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Peace.

Voltaire quotes!! I LOVE this place!

Now I get to say what I wanted to say to the poster in the other, more serious, thread who commented on Torquemada and the Inquisition - "NO ONE expects the Spanish Inquisition!! Fetch the comfy chair!!"
