Agreed that would be not described as 2 10 years olds talking about sex but rather one ten year old telling another 10 year old about how she is abused. a ten year old telling another they saw mom and boyfriend kissing is not.

I have seen postings where casually it is said you really can not eliminate it. It feels like the posters are saying we must expect some abuse.

Any time a scout was exposed to or imposed upon something of a sexual nature that was unwanted by the scouter. That would include being given pornography where it was given for the pleasure of the giver (wanting to see the reaction). I cannot get graphic here.

As I don’t view 2 10 year olds having a conversation about sex as Child Sexual Abuse I think the SE is at fault.

As I said quoted wrong post. Post I tried to quote was gone. Yes obscenity and jokes might be inappropriate and harmful but not child sexual abuse. I don’t think MJ was tearing up because he could not prevent sexual jokes and obscenity or consensual sex.

I think that the words “These allegations represents reports of abuse between an alleged victim and an alleged abused” would all that would be necessary.

And what is wrong with having zero tolerance? Do you have a figure above zero that would be tolerable? would you be able to get a room together of 100 youth and tell 1,2,3,4, or 5 of them that they would be sexually abused but that is within our tolerance levels. Could you stand in front of me and say sorry about your abuse but it is within what we expected for abuse levels?

Those discussions will happen no matter how much sex education is taught (and I am in favor of more sex education). Todays children are exposed to much more sex than obviously when I was growing up. Average 13 to 15 year old I am sure knows more about the mechanics of sex than I did. There is much more consensual sex between 13 to 15 year old children then ever before. Unfortunately my first sexual encounter was with 2 20 year old boys/men and it was not consensual. The real child sex abuse is from sex predators and predators are not having consensual sex.

So guess what friends having curious private discussions is not sex abuse and I am 99.9% sure that no one has called that as such. But this is what I mean by minimalizing by alluding to curious private discussion as being part of a 50% figure.

This is where you are correct. You are rationalizing that everything you believe must be true. Yesterday one of the gentleman was quoting statistics. It is known that males that are abused don't speak out until their mid 30's so the majority of guys talking about their abuse now had it occur 20 to 30 years ago. if you were abused in 2010 it will be 2030 0r later before you hear the abuse in that period. And no it is not a proven program...listen to the experts.

It is amazing to that yesterday 4 experts in the field of CSA spoke out about CSA in BSA and today members of this forum are trying their best to minimalize what was said. What would it take to make some you believe this is still a big issue?

The rape of a child by an adult in the 40's 50's 60's and 70's was a crime, considered as deviant behavior and was not blamed on the child.

I just did a quick google search and it said murder has no statute of limitations. Might have to do a deeper dive.

I would think it would be for any murder since it could not be determined to be 1st or 2nd degree without charges.
