  • I would encourage us to not put this merit badge in terms of politics.  Let's focus on the goals and the content and use it to broaden the horizons of kids in the program.

The sticking point is they have not figured out a way to "vet" the DE&I MBCs. They only want certain people with certain training to do it and they haven't figured out a way as to how councils and districts would do that.

What I was told was Councils got the requirements and specifications and Wednesday night BUT were told to hold them until National released today.

@InquisitiveScoutergiven your process I'm surprised anyone would apply to be a MBC and if it takes 16 weeks you will have zero counselors before the 1 May date.

Now you know why the Merit Badge Mills around here are SSOOOOO popular ;)

In our council it takes usually 2-3 days to get the merit badge approved.  It shouldn't take very long to do.
