  1. Jim I completely understand and DON'T understand how parents do not make the time for their boys. YES everyone is busy. I have began to wonder though if cub scouting interferes with Keeping up with the Kardasians, or Big Brother? Seriously though

  2.

The scouting program can't be presented through the lens of a projector in an air conditioned hall.

Which is one of my only complaints with the Wood Badge course, was the majority of the class was indoors :(

There is so much out there.. I wish I could get LOST for a week and no one get really upset, the wife and kids might just not know what to do.

  3. I live on the out skirts of Memphis, TN in Marion Arkansas. This happened in Southave, Ms which is just 45 min.

    1 link the first Story

    http://wreg.com/2014/08/19/someone-stole-trailer-camping-gear-from-boy-scouts/

OUTHAVEN, Miss.  A Southaven Boy Scout troop said thieves got away with thousands of dollars worth of camping gear after their trailer was stolen from a church parking lot.

The Boy Scouts of America motto is “always be prepared,†but a Southaven boy scout troop said its members weren’t prepared for this.

“One of our leaders said, you know, that just stinks,†Wayne Ashmore said.

Ashmore is one of the leaders with Boy Scout Troop 376 and said someone swiped their camping trailer.

“We had tents, stoves, lanterns, you know, our pots and pans,†Ashmore said. “Stuff that we had worked for years, you know, raising money to buy and now it’s all gone.â€Â

What was most shocking to the troop was that the trailer was stolen from a church parking lot.

    Second part of the Story

    http://wreg.com/2014/09/02/family-passes-it-on-to-help-replace-boy-scout-troops-stolen-camping-gear/

SOUTHAVEN, Miss.  The Boy Scouts organization is all about helping boys become honorable young men. But scouts with one local troop recently had to learn a life lesson about how dishonorable people can be, when their trailer full of camping gear was stolen.

So when one scout’s mom told us she wanted to Pass It On to their troop leader, the decision was easy.

  4. You know I have developed some GREAT relationships when I took Wood Badge back in February, relationships I wouldn't trade for anything. Maybe boys don't realize how important those relationships are because of things like FaceBook. I don't know, who am I..Just some 38 year old OLD MAN. I am very much looking forward to new relationships I will forge in our OA Ordeal at the end of the month.
