Sorry but at many of our FOS meetings where boys are leading the Flag Ceremony and such there is beer present. Not saying that rules are rules but these are DE and uppers allowing it.....OF COURSE FOR MONEY

I think the biggest issue with the no-fault-divorce culture is it teaches children that rather than work at loving somebody if it just doesn't magically "work out" you can walk away. Tends towards the lazy.
+1 that's it in a Nut Shell

I think its as equally as bad as staying in a relationship where there is fighting and drug abuse. But I agree I think everyone involved should work together to resolve the issues, sometimes though it can not be repaired.
I was lucky, my parents stayed together. Its just easier to get a divorce then sit down and work it out.

We have structures at Currier that we call Adirondacks. It is open at the front, closed side to side and back, It has 8 bunkbeds.

**Wow' date=' you mean the Scouts do that? ** What do you mean "retirement"? **We always wondered if it was ok to just wrap it up and put it gently in the trash... [/quote']
it always surprises me as well

My conversation started with mine by asking why was the janitor putting up the flag and not my scouts.

Very funny comment that was left "they should have wedged her foot between 2 boulders and left her there. She's a vile individual."
lol

I really REALLY like camp cards. 50% and assist in paying or Resident Camp and Day camp !!! WIN WIN

We have never had any issues with calling up the district (school) and letting them know when "buzz up" is so that we can come to the school. I would like to know the trend else where

This is my knife and I really like it but rules are rule and I do understand.
-
I hope you retain every single one of them.

WOW thanks so much for the information

Tell ya what I did. 1st I created a Facebook page (Marion BSA 172) got people to sign a form stating it was ok to post pictures. More and more people requested a "Closed Group" so that only members of the pack could see he pictures.
So I am in the process of moving pics from Marion BSA 172 to a Members only Group but I will leave the Marion BSA 172 up for information and advertising just NOT pics.

I wish they'd make more changes like this and make scouting more back-to-basics outdoors stuff' date=' scoutcraft, camping, etc. [/quote']
Do you see this with the new program?

Ask him to take over as TDL.
ONLY after he's been trained !!!! In all areas of scouting

UGH this edit format is for the birds.

Here's the thing our TROOP SUCKS !!!! I have 1 kid (SM-Son) that does what he's suppose to and he is now the SPL. The ASM son won't open his mouth, NOT a leader. Have 2 friends that wanna play, now we have 2 cross overs that probbably IF they go to Boy Scout Camp with drop out because they are Babies and never left their moms teet. Harsh?
So if I teach my cubs the knots they NEED TO know and get all the hiking and camping done and make that transition easier that will make my troop better. My son (heading to Webs in June) will be a Boy Scout soon and I want him is a functioning troop !

Ok WishfulMom after reading that, yea GO SOMEWHERE else

I recommend Boxwell Reservation in Lebanon' date=' TN. It's on Old Hickory Lake. I'm staffing this year.[/quote']

I guess I am floored by the problems everyone has.
As being in charge of the Camping Chair I have a meeting with the parents and kids before our camp out and of course I email prently of times.
I have never had a parent walk in and Sample food !!!! EVER and I have never had to say it.
Who controls who eats first? The cook...Easy step! Call all the boys to the table with their mess kits.
You dont have a mess kit or something to eat with or on? not my problem, you were emailed. Might have happened once !!!
Sorry I communicate with my parents on what I expect and I have rules that in place for reasons.
-
Its not the bugs, I can deal with that !!! Just the stale muggy air. I see what you're saying though, might give it a try this summer with my son. We do summer camp at Kia Kima in June but so far it hasnt been hot at night.
-
Well down here in he south it doesnt get that cold, which I know the forum covers a broad area but I am generally speaking for my area.
Logically I wouldnt ask kids or adults to camp in conditions like the above. We do the majority of our camping in the fall and spring because it is typically too dang hot to camp in the summer.
Is divorce bad for children

I agree with what you are saying Eagledad....It the power of entitlements, everyone is entitled to something regardless of responsibility.
