and to my PLEASURE the boy cracked down Sunday and was able to do ALL requirements for AOL. I did mentioned to him that these are things you should ALWAYS know!!! I do kinda blame this more on the Leadership of Webelos than really on him.

I do waterproof mine once a year, yet to get wet while camping. At least not INSIDE the tent

Obviously we can't be sure exactly what was rushed through at Resident Camp so its always a habit of mine to go over again so I know 100% everything was covered.

Parent and boys NEED To make an attempt to attend PERIOD.

The AOL is not a required award before they enter into Boy Scouts. I have the unfortunate job tonight to tell a young man that he will not earn his. He can not recite the LAW, or the Oath.

I agree with Stosh on this, not a Blue Jean uniform type of guy either .

Honestly though they need to understand the importance of planning meetings. Also make them aware, dont Bitch about what we are doing if you didnt make the effort to attend the planning meeting. Next year attend and VOICE your opinion

I know yall are speaking about Boy Scouts but let me throw in what I saw at Cub Scout Camp.

My Son is a Webelos 1

I am a Den leader, no of the Webelos though

So I followed my son to ALL of his classes, took an active part in said classes as well. Wrote down and rememberd what was done and what wasn't.

He took:

Naturalist

Geologist

Aquanut

Athlete

He completed none but they said he completed Naturalist and Geologist. One of the other parents kids went with me to Naturalist and I mentioned they HAD NOT completed the work and she says "Well why do they go to camp if it isnt for completing achievements?" ugh !!

Some of it is the Parents as far as Cubs go. But I told her "TO HAVE FUN" and learn the scouting way
