I cooked competition Q a couple of times. I disagree with KCB standards and why in the world am I spending $1,000 on meat and then $500 to enter a contest... here is my pit.....old school. So far no real information here. Lots of bragging. I am impressed with what your are saying but....I need real nuts and bolts on what I need to do to find folks who are distribute grants. How do I know what companies have foundations or how to locate foundations who distribute grants? How do I know what their focus is? Is there a website or publication that one could reference.. In need tenting, backpacks, sleeping bags and money for our own van or to buy our CO a new one.

I am competing with ROTC in our high school, they get privileges in the high school, shoot 223 have real authority over those below them.....Can discipline those under them.....My spl was impressed with being forced to do pushups as punishment.....Attend a boot camp style summer camp..... Just about to lose my SPL to them.....At least it isn't football again.

ON the TL forums there are a number of adults saying their entire unit is changing over to TL.....I was wondering how the boys feel about it. Good to hear, sad to lose a BSA unit. So 99 how many refugees have you picked up??????

really???? So popcorn season is upon us........So an older couple wants to support your unit but cannot afford your $20 cans of popcorn, so are you going to turn down their support of a hand full of change. So you have folks wanting to donate.......I am not too picky, send them my way......

KDD you really have no clue....I am sorry there is no rule written in a book or a picture or pictograph you can look at and see clear black and white. this is a grey area....... Ya need your glasses checked.....you didn't read my previous post. My scouting world is much different than your Mono culture, religion and color world. I would be dealt with in the exact same manner an over zealous catholic who is not respectful of others beliefs would be asked to leave as well. Just as I would deal with an over zealous gay youth....... It is about respect.

Because that is what the troop committee has said it wants. with that said how will the troop committee ever find out???? And to be completely honest it depends on how the lad acts....... If he is going to be a idiot about it waving his atheist flag about he has gotta go.....If he is respectful of others beliefs then there is no problem...... Just as with any lad.....If a catholic or protestant kid gets out of line.....Would be dealt with exactly the same. Tone it down or you will be asked to leave.

He said he was an atheist....but has no clue what it is......The second he very clearly articulates what it is and still professes he is.....he will be asked to leave.

Under the lovely umbrella of scouting I can't take the boy scout troop to the range and shoot 9mm pistols or 223 ar rifles or even semi automatic rifles.... Now as a group of friends and families we could do it.......Outside of the umbrella...we could go shoot what ever anybody owns......

I would like to see boys be able to enjoy shooting AR style rifles.....Why? Because that is what they are into.

I am King of the Forest.... I am a Scoutmaster of a troop of 30 young men. We camp as a troop monthly, our patrols have monthly patrol outings. We participate in community service and are working on being Boy led. the patrols have a very strong patrol identity and I couldn't happier. Very Little national says actually impacts the youth in my program......We have, I suspect, gay youth as members already. We have gay scouters. we have muslims, jews, catholics atheist and all variety of protestants. I jump thru the training hoops, I jump thru the paper work hoops, I jump thru the rules hoops.......But ya know the boys never see it and probably could care less. Because I understand that scouting isn't about me.

Your assuming Wak...... The reason I worded it the way I did was because I was completely flabbergasted by them allowing gay youth in..... The original cited reason for them to leave and they were back pedaling.

Oh that makes me feel better, the troop puts on only 4 merit badges at one time.....NOT So do you guys meet during the summer.....

I think you will find this troop is more common than you think....

Just keeps getting better and better.... So the boy isn't actually interested in earning the merit badge......Just the $10 on the back end.

So what your saying is you hold three different merit badges a week????? When do they learn first class skills.

I just have to know How many times a year does your unit camp or hike Who plans them Big long expensive trips or something close to home Do your patrols do things independently of the troop?

I am mystified by all the LDS hatin going on........There are a few units in our district they show up to roundtable and seem to be decent enough folk....... When to a meeting at their church and was caught off guard by the ban on scoutmaster fuel, coffee. they keep to themselves around here, they have their own week at summer camp, Where special under wear, learned that last presidential campaign...... so explain to me all the hatin going on????? The way I see it they are just trying to get by just like the rest of us. the only hatin I see going on in my life is the rich hatin the poor and vice verse.
