  1. Congratulations it will all become a reality come your COH.
  2. "To make things worse some go as far as to adopt an air of arrogance." Sounds like my SE and council members......
  3. lso note as of Fall 2003 The eagle Scout Certificates are different and they are selling the new frames for the same cost as the old one in the catalog. (Yes older frames can still be obtained)
  4. As for the MB i wouldn't know but i'm sure the design of the merit badge has changed so it might look a bit funny with your collection. As for the eagle Cert. I know when i went to a counci l office i picked up a pamphlit and you an get the cert. and your eagle card replaced. My guess is that it would have George W's signature on it. I doubt they would have Ronald Reagan's signature on file and also the eagle scout cert. has changed as of fall 2003. So if you have one those frames for the older ones you'll need to buy a new frame becuase the cert. different. (I looked the 2004 catalog) as
  5. All of our religious award presentations have been done during a mass or celebration sunday mornings at the Child's respected Church. Bascally the minister would do a blessing of the medal announce the boys name to the pashioners and there would be much rejoiceing.
  6. I support people carrying/having firearms with them and at their home. I'm glad i lvie in PA. I'm a member of the NRA and they feature articles like what the author of this topic put here. That guy needs to get out that town.
  7. When i bought my eagle bolo tie i didn't get carded but when i bought my eagle knot i did get carded...i'm 18 so maybe if i was an old guy they might not have carded me lol. I'd be surprised if you would get carded for AOL thats not as protected as the eagle scout award is.
  8. Uhhh i'm not qualified to answer that but if the kid is like 15 or 16 years old there is something wrong there. if anything if this is a new kid in the troop did he ever sit in a meeting about camping and what to bring and stuff? But he's life so he should know how to if they signed his book off. Ask him who signed off his camping requirments and then slap the guy and ask what he was thinking about at the time. (j/k)
  9. No tipping to Den Chiefs. I myself was a Den CHief for 6 years and i had a blast. I had a very good leader to work with (same one who helped me get my AOL) and we got along all the time. She thanked me a lot for all the hard work i put in and made me feel appreacted enough. The only thing we ever did was exchange gifts for christmass. She would get me a small thing andf then I'd give her some vension from the past hutning season
  10. I'm signing. My one post in the council relations forum was a quicvk yes or no and that turned ugly for some reason. I'm glad everyone stopped when I asked them too though.
  11. Just wondering do all gander mountains give that 10% disscount i always go up there during a gun show at pennsdale twice a year and I see young scouts selling candy bars and i buy one . I was wondering if its the same one up nea lycoming mall.
  12. Ok i think we got everyone's point of view across and ther eis no need for name calling and other deragatory remarks so plz just let this thread go through its course to the bottum of this forum.
  13. Ok thanks all its just couple days ago we found out that council has decided to close our local scout shop which is about 20-30 mins away from where we are at. Now there will only be on through out the whole council which is about an hour away. No one has time to take 2 hours to get awards and stuff like that from the office. Theirs other issues like the SE and stuff but i'm not goning to get into that right now. No one in our troop is "happy" with council.
  14. You have the right to fell this wya. CM is just selfish plain and simple. I was Den Chief for Wolf Den this past year (the other 5 years i was for Weblows II) but anyways I found this neat site that allowed me to print out thius big Wolf logo and i had th kids color them and used them for palcmeats and then used there pine wood derby cars for other pieces and other misc. projects the table llok really nice and impressive the best part was is that the boys did it.
  15. We aren't too happy with our council right now can we switch? (This has been going on for the past year)
  16. Well in my troop i guess yo call our breakfest thingy the blue and gold banquet of the year but we do a couple of things. Scout sunday weekend troop partipates in the mall show on saturday go up set up our exibit then the boys take turns looknig over our displays. The next day scout sunday the troop goes to the church and if any boys have religoius awards to be presented to we would go to theirs if not we would just go to a different one. Afterwards we would go over to a restraunt have our own area in the back (no other people around) and have breakfest and then present awards over the year an
  17. Have a great time at gettysburg. Beatiful weather this weekend. Historic walk is around 4-5 miles just so your aware. We didn't get lost when we did it.
  18. 12 years as a youth and 3 1/2 months as an adult
  19. In my district we don't have eagle advisers. In my are a blood drive wouldn't be considered an eagle scout project becuase of the fact that they visit all the areas frequently like once every 4 months. Service oranizations already sponser these. SPl wanted to he'd need to find a place, contact the red cross, get sings for adbvertsing them and post them throughout town, get juice pizza cookies dontaed. and make sure the troop is there for set up and take down. If the boy would do all of that i MIGHT consider it one but problem is that it might not neccisayly help your community. That blood does
  20. As lnog as the scout has his 1st class rank he can carry on advancing with the crew. To be honest i do't know that stuff goes you'll have too do a search on google or something. No he longer needs the scout master to sign off the paper as long as the boy is registered in the crew.
  21. I know ouyr pack/troop attends the blue and gold banquet and does the Order of the Arrow Ceremony followed by the cub scouts crossing over to the boy scout troop in a ceremony and then reciting the scout oath with their fellow troop members. We present them with their necker cheifs and a certificate. THen usually one of the boys who is an arrow of light receipant reads and then gives them their patches and a gold painted arrow. The Den Leader would read the points of the arrow of light. I know there are plenty of different types of ceremonies online on various sites.
