  1. The Court has released a status report (link below) regarding the TCC/Kosnoff email error , future TCC communications protocols, answers to discovery questions, emails between TCC and Kosnoff, Debtor voting concerns, PSZJ billing restrictions, opening for additional remedies, the initial Agreed Proposed Interim Order (Exhibit 1), and the amended Red-lined Agreed Proposed Interim Order (Exhibit 2). There is a lot here, recommend having aspirin handy. The hearing continues tomorrow. https://casedocs.omniagentsolutions.com/cmsvol2/pub_47373/0d43cbe0-bbfb-451a-8e05-6d5045dce066_725

  3. I’ve seen everything done. My ventures once ditched an area event that they had been dying to go to for year — all for some last minute party conjured by the popular kid. The other adult and I went and had a great time counseling other venturers. That and other events gave me these lessons learned: Do it for you. Yeah, sure we’re in this for the kids. Whatever. But if it’s not something that gives you joy even if one parent and kid show up, you’ll add to your misery. Aim for the event to be top-notch on your scouts’ criteria — nobody else’s. That way they will brag about it wh

  4. I agree. I miss both of them for their insightfulness and ability to bring clarity to issues. I also miss @ThenNowfor his humor and self deprecating attitude that not everyone appreciated. I miss @CynicalScouter also for his passion and his honesty. Many a time I posted something wondering if it would pass muster with him and if he made a comment back to me I knew it would be his truth. Once again something not always appreciated. I believe the loss of both of these men on this forum is a loss for the forum community no matter which side of the issues you believe in.

  5. I haven't experienced this issue. About the closest is skipping Scouts for another activity. I caused a bit of an uproar at our University of Scouting. A class was discussion bending the Scouting schedule around everything else in order to retain Scouts. When it was done, I asked why we would sell Scouting as the lowest priority activity. People were shocked. I pointed out that no one in their 40s mentions that they were a high school quarterback. Even the guys who played in college aren't sticking it on their resume 20 years down the line. Eagle Scouts proudly wear t-shirts, tie tacks

  6. I partially agree, but I expect there would have been an argument about the ballot regardless of this email. A lawyer indicated Omni/BSA messed up earlier by sending information directly to their clients (after agreeing not to), causing confusion. This lawyer of 1,600 clients said it took them a long time to address the mistakes of Omni/BSA only to now see the email from Kosnoff/TCC cause more confusion. He indicated that he wants communication to his clients to stop and only go through state counsel (he did not indicate what he recommended in terms of voting). The judge agreed and sai

  7. Years ago one of my scouts, in uniform, was at a restaurant with his father before our meeting. An elderly gentleman as he was leaving said "If you can recite the Outdoor Code, I will pay for your dinner" The scout stood up and proudly recited the OC. It has been part of the opening in the troop for generations.

  8. I believe the biggest issue is lack of adult leaders with the time needed to create and nurture a robust unit program. At each unit, I would start a separate 501c3, similar to "Troop XX Booster Club", and that corporation would hire a full time unit leader called "Scoutmaster'. Each member has a fee and/or fundraising goal to support this. Then, I would hire someone ( like a retired veteran) who is already financially independent (or nearly so) so they wouldn't have to rely on their unit salary to live, but that salary would cover ALL costs associated with their unit functions. 9. I don't know what to do about WB. My bad experience was detailed last year. After that year, I am still not inclined to try again. I have come to believe WB is successful for only certain personality types. People that are excited and engaged to attend that type of training I think are more likely to have a good experience. Honestly, I have almost zero tolerance for role playing, and games,, and songs, etc. I would be more than happy to sit through a couple of days of the leadership training itself. In fact, in January I am signed up for UoS with almost an entire day of Troop Committee

  10. Except that the federal government has no jurisdiction over the Statutes of Limitations in Child Abuse cases in state courts. Even if this passes, it would only be relevant to cases that could be filed in federal court.
