John-in-KC 311
My Scout Reservation seems to go wink wink nudge nudge on not permitting Scouters to have lead acid batteries in campsites to power cpap machines Is there a prohibition on lead acid batteries in unit sites of a scout reservation in the national camp standards? If yes, can you cite it? TIA Edited June 27, 2018 by John-in-KC
qwazse 4283
I've never heard of any such restriction at our reservation.
Eagledad 2699
What! No! But we do encourage the scouts to make and use a camp gadget when possible. Barry
69RoadRunner 375
I couldn't find anything with a Google search. They're more expensive, but AGM batteries can handle being fully drained better than a traditional lead acid battery.
shortridge 184
2018 camp standards are here: https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/outdoor program/pdf/430-056.pdf I found nothing in a search for “battery,” “batteries,” or “acid.”
