  1. Alright, I'll add to this:) I have found that BDU pants (OD prefference) work great for hiking, etc Also, find a backpack from a brand name! I have not used a Nalgene bottle, but plan to buy me at least one soon for backpacking. For hiking, I prefer a Thermobak. My favorites: Thermobak 3L for water 1st aid pouch (ALICE) are great for small items. I'll try thinking of more
  2. Snow day!!!!!!!! And why arent you working;)?? PS. My last post was after the time we get out anyway:)
  3. Trail Pounder, sorry to tell you, but Camp Manchester is a whole lot farther than an hour away from Carlyle Lake. It's more like an additional three to four hours. From just south of St. Louis, Camp Manchester is about four hours. Our troop went there for camp a couple of years ago. Carlyle is about an hour away from here. That is where our council camp is. Not on the lake, but near Carlyle.
  4. Along with what FOG said, he also had the flag upside down! Only in severe danger to life and property do you do something like that!!
  5. (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general. (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. (j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart. This is direct from the U.S. Flag Code. http://suvcw.org/flag.htm What more do you need?
  6. Totally illegal!!!!!!!!! Made me too mad for me to express on here. Of course, my sisters wanted to sit there and argue with me about it. And then, he just kind of tossed it off. Problems- 1. Wearing the flag 2. Tearing or cutting the flag 3. Flag was upside down- means total distress. 4. Just wrong
