The Galesburg town business fathers decided this year to rename the Christmas Parade the Holiday Parade. So our scout troop decided to take action. We built a float and had Mary (A recruited Brownie) and Joseph and two angels (Two more brownies) and a little drummer boy playing a snare drummer. It was pulled by our ASMs and myself. In the back marched the troop holding 5 five foot wooden crosses. Sledge-Hammer symbolism, I know. But people took notice. And we got two of the four PIx in the newspaper coverage. I took at look at the application I signed a long time ago and just realized that it contained no such statements...it was before they made the new version.
