BUT its only good for a year! It has be "RECHARGED"

Being a webelos myself knowing the Law and Oath is key (in my opinion) that's one less thing the ScoutMaster (or SPL) will have to worry about from my boys, as well as knowing Bowline, TimberHitch, 2 half and square knot (which they should know from Bear)
-
As intense as they are, I wonder if the Webelos AOL requirements are more focused and intense than the Scout/Tenderfoot requirements that they have to turn around and do all over again when they reach Boy Scouts.
Remember though not ALL new Boy Scouts are previous Webelos! Think of it as the new Bobcat for Boy Scouts

I was scratching my head as well when I was going through my sons new book while he was working on Scout Rank. He said this one specifically he couldn't fine, and I honestly haven't had to chance to go back and look again. THANKS
-
Thanks Guys, I am super excited for him and he is excited as well. The troop he's heading to it top notch in this area, I actually drive him to another State lol. We live right outside of Memphis, TN in Arkansas its only a 15 min drive so its fine haha.
In a couple of weeks they are heading to Hardy Ar for Pioneering, this will be his first campout with the new unit.

The wonderful thing about my program (Cub Scouts) is the adventure began as a Tiger! We do all things Boy Scout like except obviously the High Adventure and shooting sports. Other than that, they have braved 28 degree weather and by the time they get to me the Square Knot is down and we are working on Timber Hitch, 2 Half Hitch and Taut Line.
Now he will get to learn the Patrol Method, he has been sent to the appropriate troop for that, unfortunately my Troop isn't there yet.

I call "Burn out" an excuse for Poor Programs! Call it what you want and bury your head but if you have Scouts that are burned out then you might need to check your programs!

I have a guy in the community that Our District Eagle Award Ceremony's are named after, hes been to 10+ Jamboree's 4+ World jamboree and Philmont atleast 8 times. A mans Man! and he is also a Lawyer.
Once I started getting involved with the scouts and all this inclusive stuff started I sat down with him and had a talk. (fortunate enough he is dear friends with my father in law so getting an appointment was easy) He said to me "Jason I am not going to stop doing what I love for 2% of the population, The BSA has the best program there is for young men and I am going to keep doing it" That ment a lot to me because I just knew as traditional as he was that he was just going to curse the BSA up one side and down another.

I cant wait to go with my son, (hopefully) He has a couple more years. I quit smoking 2 years ago for this very reason, now I need to lose about 25 lbs (225 currently)

We will have to talk via PM. We have done Orr and Pioneer to the west. The boys saw Kia Kima on Facebook and thought it might be fun. Trying to see if we can work a camp out there during a long weekend some time in the future to check it out. Looks nice!!
Anytime,
there is also Old Kia Kima right next to it. I'll get you whatever information you need.
-
Great area!! Kia Kima is on our five year must-see list.
You should see the new Dinning hall if you like air conditioning. Thanks Kia Kima is near and dear to my heart
-
Thanks Guys that what I was thinking, I just didn't want to lose an opportunity for him to go.

Depends on your state I guess. Here in the bastion of conservatism we don't chide anyone for bringing such things in to work.
I sell popcorn at work while my son sells it in the Neighborhoods. My form stays on my sales counter and I talk frequently about it. I guess being southern and in I guess the "bible belt" helps because they see what a great program it is and gladly donate.
-
And, we abandoned the National Project of "Scouting for Food" in favor of "Good Turn for America"
That comes under the top 10 stupid loss of brand decisions ever made...
Not at All. Chickasaw Council still does scouting for food and we are very successful.
-
I don't buy popcorn. I make a monetary donation directly to the unit. The unit can spend the donation any way they wish, including summer camp.
Additional benefits: The unit gets 100 percent of my donation...no skimming to support bloated pro salaries and such. Also, my non-purchase will not contribute to increased overall sales figures, thus lending a truer picture of just how lame popcorn really is. And I'm relieved of the added chore of throwing the popcorn in the trash.
I understand that, and trust me we get those monetary donations as well.

I need opinions
My son 03/14/2005 should I consider 2017 Jambo or wait? Moves into the Troop (officially) next month

GS Cookies are $4.00 a box. They taste good.
BS popcorn has a higher buy-in, and tastes like flavored cardboard.
LOL you're not buying it because its a great product, you're helping a Boy go to camp

Our council camp has a brand new dining hall, refurbished old dining hall, new training center, newer pool, climbing tower, new archery/rifle/shotgun ranges and they are having trouble filling 3 weeks of campers. Good staff and program is better than nice facilities.
Here Here! You're exactly right!

We have people come from all over to Kia Kima. We have 3 very full weeks always scheduled, I am very thankful.
