Well it's been awhile and I have yet to see a llama add. But llama tell ya, I just saw an add for a front closing Playtex 18 hour bra with flex back. Ooh la llama.

About a month ago I saw some ad for Llamas and Alpacas.

I tried to reply right then and there, but the 'puter was on the fritz.

Hunt and OGE were right.

I think the next thing we should try for surplus diamond abrasives

As I started reading this thread I was curious (based on the first post of 'sexcrime lawyer.us') of what I would find in the Sponsored Ads .. so I looked:

"Find Alpaca Farms Fast"

"Alpaca's For Sale"

"Exclusive Alpaca Sweaters"

"Luxurious Alpaca Products"

I was wondering just how we got from sexcrimes to alpacas and then I read the rest of the thread.

Yes, it works.

Hunt,

I find this thread to be an inspired piece of work. Congratulations on a most interesting experiment.

There is apparently a vast alpaca industry that places ads through google. Following the links gives a glimpse into a world that I've never given much consideration to; the llama husbandry industry. You can buy alpacas or get them for free. You can get sweaters, blankets, all kinds of clothing. You can visit alpaca farms. It seems like every time I reload the page I get slightly different alpaca ads. It's fascinating, in addition to being a tribute to too much free time on my part.

Here are the ads I see this time:

How To Get Free Alpacas

Through Income Tax Deductions! Section 179 extended through 2007

AlpacaDigest.com

Suri Llamas for Sale

Over 100 suri llamas, over 30 years experience at WoodsEdge Wools Farm!

www.alpacasllamaswoodsedge.com

Raffa Exclusive Sweaters

The most beautiful 100% Alpaca Sweaters made in Peru.

www.raffa.com.pe

Alpaca

Free Alpaca info & links from the online authority

www.doo.us.com

One notable feature of these ads is that they are mostly for 'alpacas', not 'llamas'. Interesting how that works. Perhaps we should have started out with 'alpaca', but it's not nearly as funny sounding a word as 'llama'.

I consider the experiment a failure, because I have no interest in alpacas, only llamas. ;)

I wonder how much it takes to spark an ad like this? I mean, if I just mention something--say, swizzle sticks, maybe--is that enough?

Oak Tree and Hunt,

We are getting these results because of the vast alpaca conspiracy. Do your part to fight against if by NOT CLICKING ON THE ALPACA LINKS.

Viva la llama! Llamas son muy buenas! Las alpacas son muy malas!(This message has been edited by yellow_hammer)

Maybe so. But it can't compare to llama stew...

Genuine Chilean Llama Stew

NOTE: Recipe requires a quite large Dutch Oven, Recommended for entertaining V.I.P's in Camp.

3 Medium sized Llamas

1 ton salt

500 bushels Potatoes

1 ton pepper

200 bushels carrots

3000 sprigs parsley

2 small rabbits

1000 gallons of brown gravy.

Cut llamas into bite sized pieces, cube vegetables.

Place meat into pan and cover with 1000 gallons of brown gravy. Simmer slowly for 4 weeks.

Garnish with Parsley, Should serve 3800 people. If more are expected add 2 rabbits.

======

Apologies to Jim McGregor for shamelessly ripping off his camel stew recipe listed at http://www.macscouter.com/Cooking/DutchOvenRecipes5A.html#5B8

I'm sure Jim McGregor will forgive you as he probably also ripped it off. I've seen variations of this all my life involving camels, elephants, mammoths (caveman version), etc.
