TiaScout
Anybody? I've not been able to find any explanations of the MICE acronym (mentioned in the council's own IPs for Outdoor Cooking in GS Central Texas and GS Central Maryland).
scoutldr
I checked several acronym websites and the closest I can come is "Money, Ideology, Coercion and Ego" (reasons people become spies...or cooks, maybe)?? Don't have a clue. Also found several sites on how to properly cook a mouse.
Hal_Crawford
More Ice Cream for Everyone. No? Well it sounded like a good idea.
momma_bee
If it helps the rest of us, the requirement reads "Review what M.I.C.E. stands for and how you should follow it when cooking and cleaning up." And, I will admit reading it this summer and since I was clueless, deciding it was a requirement that we would skip. (yes, that option exists in Girl Scouts, sometimes, sort of) I found the mouse cooking tips too. Scary. Measure Ingredients Carefully and Efficently???? Hal_Crawford
Given the context (...when cooking and cleaning up) I would guess that it has something to do with sanitation. What it stands for is beyond me.
momma_bee
It is fun to try and guess. If Tia doesn't beat me too it, I may call and ask. M____ I__________ Contaminated Environment?

AlFansome
Browsing my wife's leader and SafetyWise books, I found "minimal impact camping". Connect that with something I found on Yahoo! Answers and you get: Minimal Impact Camping Experience
momma_bee
That works It also would mean that Girl Scout's renamed Leave No Trace for their own use, but hey...
Hal_Crawford
There was discussion in another thread of merging the BSA and GSUSA. If that happened you could use EDGE to teach MICE. Hal

SSScout
Acronymically speaking, KISMIF (Cub Scout mantra) LSMFT (Little Scouts Make Fine Tentpegs) This from my days as a Scout... my mom was a smoker. Don't know why the PTB (powers that be) did away with OWLETS (Outdoor Webelos Leader Extra Training Session) and made it something else.
