I think I have what you are looking for, Private Message me your Email address and I will send it to you -
We always take at least one female adult (over 21) with us, this means wherever she goes, so does all the female youth. Normally we have 3-4 adult leaders on any outing. We don't have "assigned" places for female/male tents, but so far we havent had to. At Council events there are female and male youth areas with the adults in between. Hope that helps(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)

personally I try to stay away from the court system, but, just what does "Plaintiffs with standing" mean? NJ, I think I understand your position, but I also think it may not be bad to fight back a little as well

Proper Use of the Flag - Super Bowl Half - time
OldGreyEagle replied to NWScouter's topic in Issues & Politics
The young lady's name is Brandy Chastain and when you think of it, the sports bra she had on under her jersey is much more than what is worn during most female beach volleyball matches... no problem NJ, I was just recounting a sports memory, as far as American atheletes running around stadiums with American flags, FOG's memory could be one of several, anywhere from Carl Lewis to Michael Johnson and scores in between. I also remember Bruce Jenner with his American flag and most of the US gold medal winnning boxers all waving flags. From my view they were celebrating the moment with flags which had not been mutilated. But maybe I am just overreacting, hard to beleive but it happens. As a side note, has anyone explained to their scouts that its really not ok to pull down a womans top after you dance with her even if she says its alright? -

And I remember on the medals podium 2 clenched fists high in the air while eyes were cast on the ground during the playing of the national anthem by Tommie Smith and John Carlos during the 1968 Mexico City Olympics... -
Onehour So its the journey, not the destination that counts... I quite agree

Some beer was spilled on the bar room floor And the bar was closed for the night A little brown mouse came from a hole in the wall and sat in the pale moonlight He lapped up the beer from the bar room floor And back on his haunches, he sat An' all night long you could hear him roar Bring on the bar room cat The cat came in at the break of dawn And ate up the little brown mouse An' the moral of this story is Never take a drink on the house

Restore Air Scouting or Air Exploring in Venturing
OldGreyEagle replied to dana_renner's topic in Venturing Program
::Quietly assembling soap box:: ::Stepping up to soapbox:: Venturing's Focus is not High Adventure, Venturing is composed of 5 distinct areas: 1. Outdoors 2. Arts and Hobbies 3. Sports 4. Religious Life 5. Sea Scouts Ventures can plan just about any program they want within the bounds of the G2SS! Again, Venturing does not equal High Adventure! Venturing is so much more than "just high adventure" Continue -

"...really restore an outdoor feel to the Venturing Program" Not sure the Arts and Hobbies, Religious Life, or Sports Crews want to restore an Outdoor feel, the Sea Scouts are probably ok with being outdoors though. We have a Crew in the Council that does Model Trains, I know they dont want to be outdoors. The WWII Re-enactment Crew like the outdoors, but are limited in gear (pre 1945) they can use BTW, I have never heard of Rovering in the US, is this something new or have I misplaced you geographicaly? Proper Use of the Flag - Super Bowl Half - time

But it was a heck of a game -
I thought lying under oath was pretty bad, just my mistake, and again, how many times did the UN agree that "something" had to be done with Iraq ? My point, however clumsy is that neither party has a stellar record when it comes to fair play or what they wouldnt do to win an election. We oughta throw both sets of rascals out, but I am not sure what that leaves
-
I agree the Saudi's do not have the most stellar record on human rights, but as far as I know, and I could be wrong, the Saudi Olympic team is not tortured if they lose as was the case in Iraq and lets not forget how many votes the UN (Unrelevant nations) took condemning Iraq. The Saudi's rulers, as far as I can tell, havent gassed an ethnic group while systematically killing thousands of a rival religious faction. Nor have I seen piles of skulls taken out of mass graves in Saudi, they may be there but I havent seen them And if stonewalling (I did not have sex with that woman) and delays (See Rose Law firm billing records)are a Cheney/Rowe (Rove?) trick then both sides are quite apt pupils
-
Pounder, how far are you from Caryle and Rend lakes?
-
Achilleez, I agree the "intelligience" that lead us to war may have been suspect, and I am not quite sure I understand our post-war strategy in Iraq, but before the world wrings it hands over the dastardly deeds of the "rogue state" the US, tell me, how many Iraqi citizens have Uday and Qusay raped, killed, and or tortured say in the last 3 months? How many Kurds have the Iraqi forces slaughtered in that time period? Where was the world outrage heaped on the US while this was occuring? We have Irqui's on the street protesting the way things are going in their country, thats fair, how long ago would have saying a single word disparate about the rulers meant ruin for the vocalizer and family? I feel as betrayed by the governemnt about the WMD mess as I felt about Clinton lying, but at least in Iraq it was a move to make things better and more people are alive today than would have been had the regieme stayed in power

Proper Use of the Flag - Super Bowl Half - time
OldGreyEagle replied to NWScouter's topic in Issues & Politics
Tar and Feathers? Well, we can use the tar, but instead of feathers we can use the "tail" that Janet Jackson had on, last time I saw anything like that, Grace Jones (a singularly scary woman) was wearing it in "Conan, the Barbarian" You remember, that was the one in which the current Governor of California was nominated for best actor in a foreign language, English -
So, I am confused, which is in no way a singular event. So what we are saying is if my son has a birthday party, and wants to go paintballing (another no-no under G2SS) and he invites all his friends and only members of the Troop and Crew show up, we have to cancel because it might be interpreted as a scouting event?

I don't care if Merlyn Leroy wrote it, all are valid points and should be included in every high school diploma...

Proper Use of the Flag - Super Bowl Half - time
OldGreyEagle replied to NWScouter's topic in Issues & Politics
Just to be fair, Merlyn did not say he was in favor of desecrating the flag nor has he ever told us he or any of his "ilk" have participated is such a demonstration. We have plenty of issues to argue with Merlyn about, but flag desecration is not one of them. -

Proper Use of the Flag - Super Bowl Half - time
OldGreyEagle replied to NWScouter's topic in Issues & Politics
This may be picking nits, but I see a difference between a garment made to look like the flag, and wearing an actual flag. All the pictures merlyn has graciously supplied are garments or accessories, designed and manufactured for the purpose of wear. The flag kid rocks in the head wore as a poncho was a real flag (I swear I saw grommets on the edge) with a hole cut in it for his head, my son and I looked at each other as soon as we saw it and both said "thats wrong". Wonder if Toby Keith will have somethng to say? -
Are The Tickets Getting In The Way?
OldGreyEagle replied to Eamonn's topic in Wood Badge and adult leader training
Before things get out of hand, I wish to clarify what I said. While the ticket process could be improved, the overall Wood Badge experience was as wonderful as it could have been. In our class the Vision was one of the most important elements on a ticket. Actually, from the responses I have read here, I am not so sure Tickets get in the way as much as the old perceptions of Wood Badge being only for the most extreme of scouters. I know I had plenty of wrong ideas about Wood Badge that only changed because I took the course. Tickets or not, it was all worth it(This message has been edited by OldGreyEagle)
